Megan's POV
After I ate god knows how much ice cream and snacks I kinda sorta felt a little better. There is one thing that's nagging at me though. Why did Herbie tell me to wait as Kristie and I started walking away? He probably was just gonna try and make me feel better or something. I looked at my alarm on my night stand and it said it was only 11:30pm. So I have been having these thoughts for about two in a half hours now and they still won't go away. I kept hearing what sounded like my phone vibrating but I shrugged it off knowing its probably just me. However, when I got tough enough to actually look my phone was light up. My heart stopped, Herbie. I figured I might as well pick up the damn phone I mean I got nothing else to loose.
"Hello Herbie." I sighed, trying not to cry.
"Hey Megan listen I know it's pretty late but can I come over real quick? I need to talk to you about something. It's something I need to tell you in person and it's something I should have told you a long time ago." I swore my heart stopped for a moment.
"But Herbie I'm in my pajamas." I said trying to hint out that I didn't want him near me just yet. Of course I didn't win though.
"Do you really think I care about what your wearing?" Why did he still have to make me blush when I'm supposed to hate him?
"Well maybe you don't but I care." I rolled my eyes but I remembered he couldn't see me. It's such a habit that I got into whenever people annoy me.
"I'll be over in five." He hung up and I took a deep breath trying not to cry yet because I know I will when I see him. And I never cry. Never. Ask any of my friends and they will say that they have maybe seen me cry once or twice if that much. After I put on a bra and brushed my hair so it looks presentable I took another couple of deep breaths while trying not to hyperventilate. Just then the door bell rang. Breathe Megan. Breathe. I heard a knock on my window and jumped. I forgot how quiet Herbie can be when he needs to be.
"Hi." I said trying not to punch him in the face. But the only thing that did actually stop me was how he actually looked like he was about to cry.
"I still need to get this off my chest even if I'm too late." I just nodded not being able to speak. I could just hear my heart beat getting louder and louder as I prepared myself for what he's gonna say.
"Megan I'm in love with you. That girl that interrupted us she's nothing. We just talk at work and that's it. She's obsessed with me but I told her that I love someone else and she asked who. I told her that she didn't deserve to know. You want to know what kills me? You don't think your pretty but not only are you pretty, Your beautiful. Everything about you, your personality and you're eyes especially. And when you smile it's as if you've lightened up the whole room. Please give me another chance? I will treat you as if your my princess because you are." Is this a dream or is something amazing is really happening? But I knew I couldn't take him back right away just not yet, I wanna see how much he means what he just said to me.
"Herbie I'm so relieved you feel the same way that I do because Im in love with you too. It's just that I don't think I can forgive you right away. I need some time and if your not okay with it that's just too bad cause that's just one more heart break for me. But if you wait for me I will be the happiest person in the whole world and ill actually be able to open up to you. I just need some time." Please wait, please wait.
"I'll wait as long as you need me to." Happy dance!! I ran to him and gave him a bear hug.
"Let me know when your ready and ill be there for you waiting patiently."
"Okay." I sighed into his shoulder.
"I better go before my parents gets up for something. Ill talk to you tomorrow?"
"Most definitely." I smiled. I watched him climb out of my window and when I saw him walk a far away enough distance I turned on the radio to a good enough volume but that's also not too loud.
