I sat back on the soft grass, listened to the sounds of the forest, chewed my meat, and thought about my encounter with the mystery girl. As she dried her clothes, the song she sang was about airbenders. The last avatar was from the air nomads,so maybe she was the avatar. I mean, who else would know hundred year old air-nomad songs?
I grinned thinking back to how I had ended up in the little forest in the first place. Some stupid thief had tried to rob me. Stupid man, I'm a trained warrior. But he had managed to cut my arm deeply. I had gone to the pond to wash it off when I saw the glow.
My bending, a type few have, is rare. I am the last of my kind. After my parents died, I had found out that they passed their bending to me. Now it's up to me to carry on their names and legend. After all, animal-benders are hard to find these days.
I flashed my sharp canines at a bunny hopping by. Its eyes grew wide and it hopped away. Animal-benders can do so much more than turn into animals. We are animals. All of our senses are sharper than a humans: hearing, smell, taste, sight...all of it is from the animal side of us.
I closed my eyes and imagined the Airbender girl again. My heart ached for her. That was one of the downsides of being what I was. When we fall in love, it's not a fling or a phase, we fall fast, and we fall hard. And we couldn't tell who or when we would love.
That's why I had used my powers to become the small turtle-duck. She had healed me and I knew that my fate was sealed. I would have the girl even if it meant dying. And if she didn't love me, then she would not get to love anybody else.
I stood up and brushed off my pants. I picked up my shirt and noticed the dried blood on it. Darn it, these stains would never come out. I couldn't go back into town like this. I growled low and ominous. A run would clear my thoughts.
I shifted into a wolf, enjoying the sounds of cracking bones and the feel of the earth beneath my paws. Right now I was more beat than man. But I didn't care. I sniffed and caught a heavenly scent on the wind, it was like vanilla and sunshine. It was the girl's scent.
I grinned as much as I could in my form, and started running. I had a girl to catch.

Soooooo...? How was it? Sorta short and choppy, but it's a bit hard writing different povs. I mean, I know what Kaori is thinking all of the time, but Aang? Not so much. Especially mystery man....
Next chapter will reveal more about him-but what about his bending? Anything you would add or delete from him at all?? Feedback is appreciated! •3•
