We kept running until we bumped into two people. "Hey watch where your-"
I pushed a clump of hair that had fallen out of my ponytail back into place. Aang had already bended himself up. In front of us was Sokka and Kuzon.
"Oh hey guys, quick recap: we just stole a scroll from some pirates who got really angry and chased us and we just bumped into you."
Sokka stared at me really weird. "How did you manage to do that in one breath?" I just glkared at him.
"Where's Katara I want to show her my cool waterbending scroll! She was with you guys right?" As I looked around I couldn't see Katara anywhere.
Before Sokka could answer a group of guys rounded the corner. "That's the airbender! Over there, the girl!" Nobody even looked at us. Whew!
The cabbage man ran around the corner next. "And she flipped my cabbage cart over, ruining my cabbages!" The entire market turned to us then, cans boy they looked angry.
All eyes in the market turned to me. "Oopsie?" I chuckled. One guy shouted, "I LOVE THOSE CABBAGES YOU MONSTER!"
"And thats our cue." I grabbed Sokka and pulled him close as I whipped out my staff. I told Aang to do the same with Kuzon. He looked very embarresed. Both of them did.
I took a running leap and vaulted into the air. The news wouldn't get out of the town that we were airbenders. Nobody would believe anyway. I hoped.
We flew until we were far enough away from town that nobody could see us. I set Sokka down and Aang set Kuzon down also. Both of their faces were bright red. I wonder why?
I rolled my shoulders and cracked my neck. Guys...I haven't seen Katara at all and she isn't in town. We flew over it as we were leaving. I don't think she went shopping after all.
Aangs mouth opened then shut. He seemed conflicted.
"Where could she have gone? She didn't want to leave our team did she? I thought she liked it here..."
My heart leapt out to him. Poor kid being all emotional with his feelings and junk.
But I knew that no matter what she wouldn't leave our team on her own. She had to have been taken by someone. But by who?
"Ooh I know, I'll just go into the spirit world really quickly and see what's going on and if they know anything."
Aang looked really happy and even Kuzon and Sokka perked up a bit. I was proud of myself for thinking of something like that on my own.
I sat down and got into a meditation position, closing my eyes. I took deep breaths in and out. I was at one with the world...
"Hey could you hurry this mumbo jumbo stuff up? Its taking pretty long!" Sokka asked while eating jerky.
"Urgh! It's not working! I'm trying but nothing is happening?!"
Everybody looked a bit scared. My eyes were open wide and my hands rested on my legs.
"Its not my fault I'm not telapathicly connected to the avatar world like my brother!"
For some reason, maybe the near death experience in town, or Katara missing, or even my frustration, I was getting angry. I seemed to be doing that a lot lately.
Sokka took a step back, dragging Kuzon with him. Aang looked worried.
"Umm Kaori..."
"What Aang?!"
