From when we left the Fire Sage's Temple, to flying up in the clouds searching for a place to land amongst all of the water, I had been peppering Kuzon with questions.
"How do I know you're actually Kuzon? How are you alive after 100 years? Why did you appear right then? And if you are actually Kuzon, what did we get Aang for his tenth birthday?"
Everyone was staring like my best friend had come back from the dead and-oh wait, he did.
Kuzon rubbed the back of his neck and softly let out a small chuckle. "Well, I remember that I was looking for you both, moving from town to town, just calling our your names. An old man told me that he saw some people in the forest that matched my description of you, so I went."
He shuddered, took a deep breath, and continued. "That's when I ran across the pirates."
I winced slightly, glad the others couldn't fully see my face because of the wind blowing my hair all around. Poor Kuzon had to go through that alone.
"I knew that there was a very little chance of me getting out alive..." his voice broke at the end.
Aang looked ahead and down, gripping the reigns tighter in his hands. Katara just looked totally captured by his story. "Oh Kuzon!" I leapt up and hugged him so hard he nearly fell off of Appa.
He giggled at my attempt to comfort him. I just ended up bonking him in the nose. Soon enough, everyone was howling with laughter.
We all settled down, me and Kuzon laying down side by side, Aang steering Appa, Katara bending a little water back and fortth, and Sokka sitting on the back of Appa muttering stuff under his breath.
Soon it became nightfall, and everyone was trying to sleep. I had taken over steering Appa when it started to become dark. About five minutes after I took over, I spotted land.
"Guys, I see land!" I whisper-shouted. Immediately Aang and Katara woke up. They were the closest to me and they were lying side by side. I wiggled my eyebrows at Aang when he woke up. He just rubbed his eyes and blushed.
"What are you talkin' about Kay?" Aang grumbled through a haze of sleep. Someone suddenly sat down next to me, and I realized it was Kuzon.
His mouth tilted up in a lazy smile, and his eyes sparkled despite the sleep weighing them down. "What's going on?" He asked.
"We can fiiiinally laaaand!" I whispered, throwing my hands up to the sky.
He chuckled and raised a questioning eyebrow. I pointed over to the small speck of land, rapidly growing bigger.
Soon we could land, and all get some good rest. Sleeping up on Appa where the wind constantly blew and bugs drifted into your mouth wasn't as pleasant as it sounded.
I grinned and landed Appa with a solid thump. Sokka barely stirred as his sleeping bag fell off of Appa and on to the ground-with him in it.
Katara pulled Aang closer to her as they lied down together on the ground again. All I could see was a mad crazy blush on my brother's face. I just hoped they didn't break each other's hearts.
Kuzon grabbed my hand and led me over to a couple of cherry blossom trees. He put his own hands over my eyes so I wouldn't see anything. Then a small flash of red.
"Open your eyes." He whispered and pulled his hands down. I gasped at what he had done. In the last five minutes he had gotten two sleeping bags together and a small lamp in the middle. It looked magical with the cherry blossoms slowly drifting down.
"Its beautiful..." I breathed. He smiled but was cut off by a big yawn. I yawned right after him. What can I say? Yawns are contagious.
"Now let's get some sleep so we can get to a town tomorrow. No more water for a while." We both layed down on our makeshift beds and he reached over and shut off the light.
After a while I heard his breathing even out and I knew he was asleep. Everybody was off in their own personal dream land, but I wanted to stay up for a little longer.
My efforts were rewarded when the murky haze over the sky lifted. The stars shone brightly, twinkling like a million little...diamonds. I rested my head back against my makeshift pillow, made out of my sleeping bag, (airbenders run a little hotter than most.) and I gazed at the brilliance of the sky.
Little rays of light danced off the ground, lit by the small fire we started to see our way around camp. I sighed in pure perfection. Nothing could wake me now. Slowly, I fell asleep to the sounds of the whispering wind, crackling fire, and twinkling stars.

A hand nudged me to the side. "Kay...Kay...hey Kaoooriii!" The voice stopped talking and I fell back into a deep sleep. "I waaaarned you little sister!"
An icy cold feeling engulfed me, and I realized after a couple of seconds that a bunch of freezing cold water had been dumped on me.
I took a huge shuddering breath, and screamed like the little girl I was. "Eeeeeek! WHO DUMPED FREEZING LAKE WATER ON ME? I SWEAR I WILL GET REVENGE!"
I whipped my soaking hair out of my face and wiped my eyes. I glared at my friends who were all high-fiving and laughing at me. Well two could play it that way.
I stood up and rooted my left foot in the ground. I slid my right foot back and brought my arms up. In one fluid motion I had everybody soaking head to toe in the same freezing lake water they used on me. Ha.
A cold bitter wind started to blow and everyone started shivering. "Really guys?" With one hand on my hip I got all of the water off them, and dumped it on the ground. "Oh, and Aang? I'm not your little sister. Only by five minutes!"
