So this theory was requested by animal_girl24 and I'm feeling manic right now so lets do this!
So this theory claims that the city of San Fransokyo and the whole movie of Big Hero 6 actually takes place in an alternate universe where America did not drop any nukes on Japan and instead Japan brought it back and took over the country or possible even the rest of the world. As more Japanese people settled in America the culture slowly took over which explains much of the architecture. This also explains the names and last names of the characters and also why they look multi-racial as Honey is half Hispanic and half Japanese or Hiro and Tadashi are half White and so on.
