PARADISE Falls (Up)

A/N: hey hoes how is y'all? It's been quite a while forgive me however this time I wanted to talk about a theory that I hadn't really thought about until now so I did some research. I have a list of a few theories I want to get into so some new chapters will be coming out soon. Enjoy my little gutter sluts.

So this theory may or may not be somewhat similar to the American Dad! one. This theory suggests that at the beginning of the movie, after Carl's wife Ellie dies at some point after assaulting a younger man with his cane due to a construction project happening outside his house he is told that he is to be moved to a nursing home. Is it possible that due to both heartbreak and old age that Carl may have passed away in his sleep? Similar to the American Dad! Theory Carl may be aware that he is dead and is attempting to live his everyday ordinary life or at least trying to continue it. He meets Russel, his guardian angel whose goal to obtain his final scout badge may just be another way of saying he needs to get his wings or halo.

Another thing I noticed is that Carl and Russel meet Doug and Kevin. In heaven some people assume that everything is flawless and that there is no such thing as living in sin or that tragedy is impossible but what if this whole afterlife sequence is to get Carl to learn the lessons he never learned in life while he was alive? At the end of the movie we see Carl, Russel and Doug all back in the same town that was at the beginning of the movie? Could this mean that Carl finally entered his own version of heaven and is about to be reunited with Ellie? What do you guys think?  

Fun fact: Have you ever stopped to realize that Up is possibly one of the first Pixar animated movies where we actually see a character physically BLEEDING? At the beginning of the movie where Carl smacks a guy on the head with a cane you can clearly see him covering his bleeding head wound which is what causes Carl to be sent to court.
