                                                                     Another theory given to me by my brother. Yes I know another classic the protagonist is in a coma and dreaming everything theory type. Let's begin.

So this theory claims that in the first episode after Ash has a biking accident he slips into a coma. He is found later and was rushed to the hospital. He was then treated with heavy medications and drugs which explains why Team Rocket suddenly became less threatening. The medications also caused his coma-induced nightmares to become much calmer. Ash's child like fantasies are a result from being lonely and wishing to escape his life. Should he wake up he will suffer from incredibly severe brain damage.

You will also notice after the first episode Ash begins to use bikes less and less although he uses them at some points in the show. This theory also explains why he always stays 10 years old, can travel the world without parental supervision, and interact with untamed animals. This also explains why every town he enters has the same police officer and nurse. Brock for some reason represents Ash's sexual orientation which he never discovered and as a result Brock must keep his distance with him. Ash's subconscious also protected him from feelings of depression so this would explain why he is unaware the accident ever had any serious damage on him.  Misty who is older than him is his ideal love interest but felt that relationships should only be entered when the pairings were mature and wanted the old and arrogant Misty back. So in general almost everything in the show is a reflection of Ash's mind as he is coming into maturity but never reached it because of the coma.
