A/N - Request by @Katarinahiteroza. Trigger warning for the mention of an eating disorder, I had to pick a reason to be in rehab so I picked the disorder closest to home. It's different than my normal ones but I hope you guys like it 💕

Tick...tock. Tick...tock. Tick...tock.
The time moved slower than you thought physically possible as you sat, staring at the food placed in front of you. The smell turning your stomach. The cutlery remind clean and untouched. "Eat." A familiar voice drifted into your ears. It was Sage, he was one of the workers here. Here in this hell. "No I'm not eating it." You protested. Ignoring the growls from your stomach. Ignoring the pain that was intensifying deep inside. "You have to eat Y/N." "No, fuck you!" You growled back, pushing the plate into the middle of the table. Sage gave a loud sigh, pulling the food back so it was in front of you again. "You know how this works. We're gonna sit here until you eat something." He sat down in a chair and watched you carefully. It was the same thing everyday. Sitting here for ages, being forced to eat. Eating never seemed worth it. Rolling your eyes, you picked up the knife and fork and stabbed it into a piece of pasta. Carb filled pasta. You cut the pasta in half and pop it into your mouth. You turn to face him and flashed him a sly grin. He gave you a soft smile in return. He was just glad you were getting somewhere. To you that piece was enough. There was no need for anymore. You were more then ready to go back to the room you were allocated. Reluctant to call it your own room as it never felt that way. It simply was not your room. This hell wasn't your home and it never would be. "Keep going." Sage added as he noticed you were about to put the fork down. "No I don't want to." You whine. "It's the same thing with you everyday Y/N. And once again we're not moving till you've finished it." "I have finished, I'm full." Sage raised an eyebrow, clearly not believing your words "Finished it all. And I don't think you'll want to miss the surprise we have planned for all the patients this afternoon so." Bribery was never normally the way the workers here went but apparently he wasn't in the mood to play games. A loud growl sounded from your empty stomach. "I don't want it, stop trying to make me eat." Once again you shoved the plate of food away. You stood up and Sage to jump to alert. He narrowed his eyes in on you. Sage was a big guy. Tall and muscly, making him kind of intimidating despite his soft nature. "Sit down and eat or I will have to take physical action." You thought about challenging his words but decided against it. Returning your butt to the seat, you slowly ate your pasta. The voices in your head getting louder with each bite.

You're disgusting.

Look how fat you are.

You're a disgrace.

Just think of the amount of calories in that.

Each little piece making you feel more uncomfortable. You felt a mixture of things. A feeling of sickness, regret and anger but that was the only way this place ever made you feel. Vile. The reason you were sent here in the first place was to help make you feel better about you self so why were you still stuck here if it wasn't working? Sage gave you a soft pat on the back before instructing you to put the plate away. You did as you were told, knowing he was annoyed enough with you already. He then informed you that there was a few hours before the surprise. You left the main dining area and took a trip back to you room. "Hey Y/N" you turn to see a blonde girl walking towards you. "Oh Hanna." Hanna was a patient here too, she was in for drug abuse. You assumed it was just another way to cope with life. Help her deal with everything "Have you heard that someone is coming in today?" "A new patient?" You asked curiously "No like a speaker. They're gonna talk to us, probably about how coming her was the first step to recovery blah blah blah. Like they always do" she giggles. "Oh so that's what Sage was talking about." Why would you not want to miss that? People come to talk to you about these kind of things all the time. "Damn you're so lucky, Sage works closely with you. He's so hot." "Ew dude he's like twenty years older than us." Hanna shrugs "So? That doesn't make him any less hot, have you seen those cheekbones." "Okay I'll give you that, he has some nice cheekbones." You laughed. You walked down the hallway and continued chatting to her. Idle chitchat but it was still nice. Hanna was one of your only friends here, well out of the ones you cared about anyway. You spent the rest of your time today in Hanna's room. That never happened often. In fact you never really hung out with anyone in here. You don't think you'd ever seen patients hanging out in each other's rooms. That's what the common room was for. After a while you went back to your drab room. You closed the door behind you, only to hear a knock a second later. "Y/N. Common room now." A sigh escaped your lips. You pull the door open to see a straight faced lady waiting for you. Hair slicked back. "Mrs.Grundwald always a pleasure." "There's my favourite girl. Common room now Y/N!" Her voice was laced with sarcasm. "I'm going." You grumble back. The common room was filled with commotion. Chairs set out in rows, filled with different patients. Workers walked up and down patrolling. You were late after being dragged out of your room so the only seat left were front row. You walked over and sat down, crossing your arms and legs. "Alright so our special guest has arrived, are you all excited to find out who it is?" "No, this sucks." A voiced yelled back. You turned to look. Like always it was Kyle. He was you're typical teenager boy. Thought he was so cool, he was in here for alcoholism. He's also a douche a lot of the time. "Settle down Kyle. You all know the rules when we have guests so with that. Come in." She called towards the door. The door creaked open but you didn't care enough to to look. You kept your head low. "Hey guys, I'm Demi Lovato. It's really nice to be here." Your head shot up  to see the Demi Lovato. A girl you had been a fan of since you were younger. You idolised her for the struggles she over came. The shit she had to put up with. It all meant so much to you that she shared her story with the world. On the outside you never showed you cared about her. Heck no one here even knows you like her but on the inside she was one of the only reason you were still going. The only reason you were still holding on. She smiled her award winning smile and you couldn't help but smile. A small one but a smile all the same. It was strange to see her with your own very eyes, she had literally never seemed so real. The words you had heard far too often were so much more inspirational coming from her. She was someone you looked up to so of course it would. She explained her story  which you already knew well but that didn't stop you from listening with upmost attention. Her words tugged at your heart, you just wanted to hug her. At the end of her talk she sang a song. Your favourite song. Skyscraper. You'd always wanted to hear it live, wondering if it had a bigger impact than when you listened to it at home. It did. You noticed tears fall from Demi's eyes as she sang. You weren't far behind her with the tears unable to help yourself. It just hit you hard. She finished the song and smiled "Well that's pretty much all I wanted to say to you guys and well sing so I hope my words have helped you in some way today and if not, I just hope you enjoyed my singing." She giggled slightly, wiping her cheeks. "You guys are actually so inspiring to me and one of the reasons I continue to make music, so stay strong. It will get better, I promise you that." Her famous words. Stay strong. They seemed so much more powerful coming from her mouth. "I'll be around for a little while longer if anyone wants to talk." You could feel yourself about to breakdown. It was all too much just being in her presence. Demi's eyes locked on you and she smiled softly. Unable to resist any longer, you jumped up and walked quickly to Sage. "Are you okay Y/N?" "Yeah." You lied biting back a sob. "Did you enjoy the speak-" "Sage." You interrupted firmly, not wanting to talk about Demi. Politely he stopped and waited for you to continue. "Can I please go to the music room?" This place was huge and had a lot of facilities, one you loved was the music room. Hardly anyone went in there so you loved to spend a lot of time in there. He nodded and off you went, giving one last look towards Demi. She was talking to Hanna but quickly looked towards you before you exited. The tears began to fall as you made your way to the music room. Normally someone would accompany you but today they must have been feeling nice.
