A blurry figure. But the voice was getting clearer. I never wanted it to stop. It was just so beautiful.

I was walking down this broken road

At a quicker pace. I needed to get there. A figure started to form.

Brown hair spilled down her shoulders. She sat upon a small island of rocks. I could tell from here there was something different about her. She was special. Unique. I wanted to know more. I need to. Her voice was pitch perfect.

I was close enough to really get a look at her. Her voice matched that of her appearance. She was stunning.

Her voice trailed off. This beautiful girl smudged in my vision. Water surrounding me. Air replaced by liquid. Soon all I saw was black.

"Hello?"

I was alive? And I recognised that voice. My throat burned. Eyes stung as they fluttered open to the girl from before. She leaned over me. Chocolate brown eyes narrowing in. Matched her hair. At first glance, she seemed like a normal girl but when I really looked I noticed a considerable difference. She didn't look... human. She had lilac scales adorning the rim of her face. And what looked to be fins where she should have ears? To say I was confused would be an understatement. I felt myself panic but I couldn't move. Frozen in fear.

"This always happens." She groaned. An adorable pout displayed. I had no clue what she was talking about. My brows knitted together.

"You're the girl that was singing earlier."

She nodded, flashing a smile.

"You sounded... spectacular."

That smile was quick to fade. I remained lying on the ground rather freaked out but also because I wasn't sure just how injured I was.

"Thank you." She eventually said. "But I never meant to do that to you."

"Do what?"

"You almost drowned. I love singing but it tends to be more trouble than it's worth. Are you hurt?"

I shrugged before sitting up. She was genuinely half naked apart from patches of scales that graced her edged and covered where her nipples should be. She smiled at me as my eyes drifted abruptly stopping at her purple tail- Wait tail? No legs.
