"Tiger to Stalker, do you copy?" I said into my phone that I used as a walkie-talkie. I was behind the lockers watching Charlotte from afar. She was walking slowly to class alone. She looked vulnerable, ready to pounce on.

"This is stupid." Erick said back from the other line. "Shut up and go with it!" I said irritated into the phone. I heard Erick sigh. I could just feel his eye rolling. "Tiger to Stalker, on my count you pounce, got it?" I heard Erick hesitate then finally say ashamedly, "Stalker to Tiger....I'm ready to pounce." He groaned.

I smiled in mischief. I counted down, "One...two...three!" I saw Erick bolt from the other lockers on the other wall. He ran to Charlotte then slowly walked to her when he got into hearing view.

I could tell that Erick was sweating. I heard him over the phone saying, "Uh, hello Charlotte." He said it nervously. Charlotte said back, "Hey, Erick. What brings you here?" Erick said "Well, duh, I don't drive so my mom does."

I whispered into the phone harshly, "Stop being so sassy!" Erick sighed. Then he said back, "So have you ever tried chocolate covered almonds?" Charlotte looked down ashamed, "I'm allergic to peanuts actually." I yelled into the phone, "You fool! We went over this!"

Then Charlotte looked my way to the lockers. I hid behind them making sure she didn't see me. "Boo." She suddenly popped up in my face. I groaned as I was caught. "What are you doing?" Charlotte asked. "I was yelling lines from a movie I watched yesterday." Charlotte smiled "Haha, that's fun."

I leaned over to Erick and whispered in his ear, "She's also really gullible." Charlotte then simply said, "Since when did you two start hanging out." I jumped frantically, "Wha-What are...are you talking about?!"Erick seemed very calm about it while I frantically fidgeted.

"Why are you so jumpy?" Erick asked. "I'm not!" I shouted at him. My face was red, I didn't know if it was in anger or in embarrassment. Charlotte played with my hair, "You're so weird." She braided my hair smiling at me. I waved her away and pulled off the braid.

During history, I sat there in class bored to death. Then Erick passes me a note. I picked it up and it read, "So, what's our next plan?" I smirked up at him. He arched his eyebrows at me.

"So you're starting to go with my plans."

"Ugh...I don't know...I just care about her a lot."

"Hehehe pure love."

"Okay sure. But...thinking about her with someone else really bothers me."

"Awwww...you're so much softer with your pure love heart sickness. You're so over protective."

"Yeah, yeah."

I smirked up at him again. He looked at me with his disapproval face. I chuckled at him softly. Then I felt the weird feeling again, the feeling that something was grabbing at my heart. I pushed that thought away.

RIIIIINGG

Everyone packed there things to leave. Again, Erick and I had the same class so he walked with me there.

"So, what was up with your attitude that time we were doing the mile?" I asked awkwardly. "What do you mean?" he asked I rolled my eyes, "Like gee, you were so worried and afraid for me, most people just passed me like I wasn't even there. Usually, I'd think you would just scoff at me. "

Erick pretended to be hurt, "Well, for the week you've known me you think I'm like that?" He exaggerated the word 'week'. I punched his arm, "Hey dude, you have a weird personality. Now tell me."

Erick put his hands in his pocket, "I don't know, it's just that, I hate seeing people hurt. It scares me that they could seriously be injured." I looked at him amazed, "So under that rude sassy heart of yours there is a soft part." I said pretending to be astonished. Erick simply rolled his eyes.

"I was specially afraid for you though." He said casually. My face went to pale to fricken tomato red straight up. The word specially rang through my head. I casually tried to say back, "What...what...do you mean special?" He looked to me with his green eyes, "Well, I mean, you are a girl." Then, my face went to tomato red to angry fire. "Are you being sexist?!"

He backed up nervously, "Woah, woah, just calm down." I growled at him. I scoffed "Whatever stalker. We in for our next ambush? After this class you got chemistry, bingo!" He nervously looked down, "I don't think I can do it anymore. I made her so offended last time." I rolled my eyes, "Come on. That was our first time. Straighten up, build a backbone."

I hit him on the shoulder playfully. My heart then skipped at beat. "What was that?" I said to myself. Usually, I'm fine playing around with guys, but it felt different with him. Like, he had a force field that made my heart beat fast when I was too close to him.

I walked with Matt and Tess home. "I think I should stop wearing bows....I think I've grown out of them..." Tess said looking down to the floor. Her face seemed more solemn than usual to me. Usually she's happy and jumpy. Now she seemed worn out and depressed. "What do you mean? You look pretty with them. What happened?"

Tess tugged at her hair lightly, "I don't wanna talk about it..." I put my hand on her shoulder, "Hey, you can tell me anything." I smiled at her trying to make her feel better. She smiled a solemn smile.

She looked back down to the floor, "It's just....Ally's been telling me I look childish and like a fool with bows in my hair. She says its immature."

Matt then calmly said, "Tess, you look cute and adorable in them. Don't let anyone tell you you aren't." Matt said it as if he said something normal. He said it in a matter of fact way. He said it like there was no way to disprove it. I looked at him in shock.

Tess blushed hard. She hid behind her sleeves that now hid her face up to her eyes. "You..you.. you...think...I'm cute?" Her voiced cracked on the word 'cute'.

"Why not? Why wouldn't I?" Matt asked. I walked behind them giving them space, "Well this got awkward.

My phone suddenly rang. It was my mom. "Yes mom?" I asked. My mom's voiced seemed strained. She sounded as if she was on the verge of tears, "Wendy, sweetie, you need to come home quickly."

"Yeah, I'm walking home now." I said casually. My mom sniffed through the phone, "Hurry up please, Gram is sick."
