I felt the cold hard floor. My head pulsed in pain. I felt as if my skull cracked open. I got off from the floor, "Agh..." My head was now throbbing in pain.

I wanted to scream but that would cause my anxiety to trigger. Everyone around me that was running just ran by, not a single thought about me. "Figures....I'm not important anyway." I muttered to myself. I tried getting up but my headache pushed me back to the ground, "Ugh!"

"HEY!! YOU OKAY?!?" I heard someone shout from far away. I looked in the direction. Someone was running to me. My vision was blurry from the bump so I couldn't see who.

I felt someone kneel near me and feel my head. "Who is this?" I asked awkwardly. "Who cares. Dude for real, you okay?! That looked horrible!! Does it hurt? How bad is it?!" A boyish voice said. As my vision came back I looked to see who it was. His green eyes scanned my head for bumps.

"Erick?" I said confused.

[I dropped into the water]

"It's me, it's me. It's okay. I'll bring you to the office." Erick said. His voice was shaky in concern. "What?" I still couldn't comprehend most of his words. My heart beat was fast. But...it didn't hurt as much as it was usually suppose to. It felt comforting...like when something warm touches your cold skin.

He grabbed my arm to help me up and that's when my heart tried to jump out of my chest. "No! Stop! Let go!" I yelled frantically. I pushed him aside. Erick insisted, "But you're hurt! Let me help you get to the office." Erick grabbed my arm but I pushed him back. I felt my face get hot. "Uh...no...I... I'm fine..."

I ran off to finish my mile. My heartbeat was still fast but this time it gave me energy. It gave me energy to run away from him. "Why am I so flustered?!? Ugh Wendy don't you dare think what you are thinking!!!" I thought to myself.

I didn't finish the mile in time, again. Charlotte had volleyball practice so we didn't walk home together. Me and Ryan didn't have to meet till four o'clock so I had an hours. I sighed, "Bored..."

I walked home with my progress report in hand, "This will be bad." Once I got home my mom was sitting at the kitchen table doing bills.

I slowly pushed the progress reports of my classes near her. She examined them for a moment. I waited her to explode, to yell at me for my grades.

She took a deep breath, then exploded. "How are you my daughter?! D! You got D!! At least C is all I ask! Why can't you be good student!! Ugh!!" She shouted out at me. I look to my feet, "I'm trying!" My mother growled, "Not hard enough!!"

I looked up to see my mom's disapproving face. I sighed, "Yes mother." My mother threw the progress reports to the floor, "Ugh! Why don't you try?!" My mother raised her hands in the air.

My grandma then lowered then. We then realized my grandma was in the room. "She's trying darling. She trying he hardest. Don't push child. She's just a kid." My mother took a deep breath and sighed, "I know...I know..." My mother retreated to her room upstairs.

My grandma winked at me. "Thank you Gram." I said gratefully. I hugged her tightly. I loved my grandma. She made me feel I could be me, I could let everything out.

I was twenty minutes early. Once I went to me and Ryan's usual table I ordered my usual. I sat at the outdoor table looking at the cars pass by. I sighed, boredom struck me. Then the door of the coffee shop opened. I hoped for my cupcake and coffee.

Erick. I arched my eyebrows, "Why're you always around." Erick rolled his eyes, "It's a free country. Deal with it." I hated when he was so nonchalant and sassy. I growled at him, yet he sat at my table.

"I was around the neighborhood. I had to meet up with my cousin who works here." He said. I raised an eyebrow at him, "Cut the act, why are you here?" He sighed, "Okay, I'm here to spy on Ryan again." I chuckled, "You're one weird kid. Pure love, stalky, and you're a sassy brat."

"I wouldn't say pure love." Erick said looking down. I rolled my eyes, "Sure kid, sure." Erick looked into the distance, "She is something. I stand no chance though. I see how she looks at Ryan... Looks at him as if he's her role model."

I stood up in fury, "What?!? No way she likes Gorilla! No way!! She's a free spirit! No way!" Erick jumped at my reaction, "Wow...you sure like Ryan. You're so over protective." I started to get flustered, "What?! Yeah right, not a chance!" I didn't know why but the thought of Ryan with my best friend made me angry. My heartbeat was fast.

Erick looked up at me with his green emerald eyes. He smiled at me like he knew something that I didn't. He chuckled a little, "Yeah okay, I was completely wrong." I growled at him, "Are you mocking me?!"

He rolled his eyes, "You're so loud." I growled at him quietly. He looked back into the road, "Anyways, I should probably give up on Charlotte." I pounded my fist on the table, "No way am I letting her fall for Ryan! My best friend with that poser?! Ugh!"

Erick raised an eyebrow at me, "What're you gonna do? You just can't change a person's mind." I smiled slyly, "But we can be better at them with flirting. Erick I got a plan!" Erick sighed, "Oh no, this might be bad."

I ignored him, "I'll be your wingman! I won't let anyone near Charlotte except you. I'm not letting that arrogant gorilla near my best friend!!" Erick snorted, "How are you gonna do that?" I winked at him, "Just you wait!"
