I ran home leaving Matt and Tess in confusion of why I ran off. My heart beat was fast. Worry, concern, and afraid were emotions that I felt then. Stress came like a wave. I didn't know it was coming, till it hit me.

I ran into the house. I heard people in my Gram's room upstairs. I barged into the room. I quickly looked at my surroundings.

Gram was in the bed sweating. She breathed small breaths. My mom put a cold towel over my Gram's head. I started to breath small quick breaths. It started to get hard to breath.Once she saw me my mom hugged me, "It's gonna be okay...don't worry. She will be fine." My mom got an inhaler out of a drawer and gave it to me.

After I could finally breath right I looked at my Gram. She sweated hard as she breathes short quick breath. I caressed my Gram's gray thin hair.

"Go do your homework, I can take care of this Wendy." My mom said quietly. She sent me to my room to do my homework but all I did was sit there. "How could I just sit here while my Gram's sick?!" I thought to myself ashamed.

For the whole weekend my Gram was sick. Every morning I'd wake up to her on the floor of my room trying to wake me up for school that was not coming. My mom told her to stop trying to wake me up but she said it was her duty too. I finally I told her to stop. I didn't want her to have anymore stress.

Instead of getting on the bus on Monday, I walked to school. I walked my lonely road of seldom. I watched the cars pass by in the road. The cars usually calmed me but my brain was on Gram. I thought of all theses situations in my head of what would happen next for her, none of them were good.

As I got to the front of the school Mayla and Charlotte were waiting for me. They smiled and waved for me. I was in no mood for a smile, but I did anyways. I smiled at them back and laughed. We all went into the school.

"So how was your weekend?" Mayla asked. My heart skipped a beat. I tried to keep up the smile. "I just stayed home and practiced my volleyball serves." Charlotte said plainly. I looked away. I didn't know what to the them. I didn't know if it was right to give them the burden to know what I do. "Haha, I just stayed home and slept." I said chuckling. I decided to lie.

Mayla played with my hair, "Same old Wendy!" I chuckled weakly, "Yeah...same old Wendy."

The lunch bell rang and everyone ran to the cafeteria. I, on the other hand, ran to get Erick. It was our next mischievous plan.

I found Erick in a crowd of kids going to the cafeteria. Ryan was also there talking with Erick. I grabbed Erick's wrist. "Come on, we gotta go before she gets there before us." I said.

He had to think for a while until he got what I was saying, "Oh yeah! Let's go!" We both ran into the cafeteria before everyone else.

Once we got there Erick and I waited patiently for Charlotte at our usual table. Charlotte then came along, "Hey Wen! Uh...Erick...hello. What are you doing here?"

Erick took something out of his pocket. It was a small pink box. "I... I ...uh got this for you..its for...for...chemistry. I saw you didn't have a magnifying glass...so I got it for you."

Charlotte opened the pink box. Inside it was a pretty clear pink magnifying glass. Charlotte's smile lit up, "Pink?! My favorite color! Aw Erick thanks, you're a good friend."

Erick and I both flinched at the word 'friend'. "She's so dense. How can she not see that he loves her?!" I thought to myself. It made me even a little angry that she didn't accept his love. It...it made even more angry thinking of someone with Erick...

I suddenly jolted, like something surged in me. "You okay?" Charlotte asked me, "It looked as if you were electrocuted or something."

I chuckled nervously, "Uh..haha..uh yeah. Excuse me for a second." Suddenly I ran off into the nearest girl's bathroom. I ran into one of the stalls and locked the door securely. I put the cover down in the toilet and sat there.

"I didn't have to do any business....so why did I come in here? Why am I so flustered?" I thought to myself. My face was red and my cheeks were flushed. For some reason I had this strange feeling to just punch Erick and run away. I gripped my hair, "Ugh, Wendy what are you doing?!" I whispered to myself.

[I start to drown in the water]

Then I felt it. A single warm tear went down my face. I froze. "I'm crying? But why? Why am I crying? All I knew is that I got so angry when Charlotte was so dense. I don't even know why?"

Then I thought about another thing. Gram. How was she now? Did she fall again? She's home alone, what if she gets hurt? More tears came down. I wiped them away quickly.

"Stop Wendy!" I whispered to myself harshly. I wiped all the tears away and ran out the stall. Once I got out I found Matt, Mayla, Tess, and Charlotte waiting for me outside the girl's bathroom. "What are you guys doing here?"

"We saw you run in. We know you hate school bathrooms so we got worried." Tess said worriedly. I tried to laugh it off, "Hahaha...don't be worried for me. Come on guys, I can handle myself."

Charlotte asked me, "Why are your eyes puffy. Were you crying?" She tried to touch the puffiness but I dodged her hand, "No. I just have allergies. I saw a dog near Mr.Mack's window and my eyes puffed."

Matt said, "Oh! I saw the puppy too! It was cute!" Mayla squealed, "I love puppies." I laughed at them with my fake smile while I thought to myself, "Yup...they're all dense."
