I punched his chest, "Idiot! Why would you do that?! You could have gotten seriously hurt!! You could have gotten killed!!" I looked at him with anger and guilt. I growled, angry at his stupid action to try to save me.

He grabbed my fist. He said defensively "I'm fine! That's all that matters right now! Everything is okay!"

I punched with my other fist harder. He stumbled a little. My voice cracked, "Why?" My voice softened, "Why would you go so far for me?"

"Because I care about you." He said. My heart skipped a beat. My eyes widened. "You've helped me a lot with Charlotte. I don't want you dead on my count."

Disappointment. I hoped for too much.... I'm just being used. Being used as a wingman. I rolled my eyes, "Whatever, stupid..." I walked away. I don't know why but I was holding back tears. "Why do I feel like crying? What's wrong with me?" I thought to myself.

"Ryan!" I ran up to him after math class. "What?" He asked in a calm way.

"The project! It was due yesterday! I was out cold yesterday!" I yelled in concern. He smirked at me. He messed with my hair, "Don't worry hamster. I got it covered."

I slapped his hand away, "What do you mean?" He took out a paper from his bag, "I'm mean, that we got an A."

My eyes widened. A smile crawled onto my face, "No way, really. It can't be!!" I looked at the paper. Right on the top was the letter A in a red pen. It was the official red pen!

I giddily squealed in happiness. I jumped up and down. "Woah, for the kid that is always chill about everything, you're sure getting worked up on this one A." Ryan scoffed at me.

I didn't care what he said. This was the first A I have ever received. My best grade last time was a B-, now its an A.

I jumped up onto Ryan and hugged him tightly. I was to giddy to think what I was doing, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I let go of him and ran away cheering and yelling through the halls, leaving him red and confused.

I cheered and yelled till I got to the cafeteria. I met up with Charlotte there and she was jumpy too.

"I got into Volleyball!!" Charlotte yelled in excitement.

"I got an A in math!!" I yelled in excitement.

"YAAAY!!" We both cheered jumping up and down.

Matt and Tess came up to us in confusion. "What's happening? Did we win the lottery?" Matt said sarcastically.

We told them the news. "I'm happy for you guys!" Tess said in excitement. Tess then cheered in glee too. Matt just chuckled a little at our weirdness.

Matt and I both walked to class together. We talked about the usual rant of the day. We always talked about how society sucks and stuff. This time it was about PE.

"I don't get why they do the mile by time. I mean we all have different bodies." Matt complained. He threw his arms in the air.

"I know right?" I agreed, "They should base it on effort." Matt nodded slowly. He didn't seem into the conversation anymore. He looked out into the distance of the hallway.

"What are you looking at?" I said looking at the direction he was. It was about three yard away from us. "No way..." I said in horror.

In front of us was a kid on the floor. Her black straight hair messy and frizzy. It was Tess. Another girl pulled at her hair. The girl had brown curly locks and brown eyes.

"Say it again Tessy! Come on 'Tess' me. See what happens little girl!" The girl said pulling at her hair. Tess grunted in pain, "I said, I'm not giving you my hair bows Cassey!"

The girl pulled her hair, "You Grunt! You look stupid in those hair bows!" Then the girl kicked Tess in the gut. Tess shouted in pain.

I watched in horror. I didn't know what to do or say. My heart beat started up. Worry filled my body.

Suddenly, Matt started walking towards them. "Matt?" I said confused. He usually never took action. He was one of those guys that stood back and watched. It was hard to believe he was now taking action.

Matt walked to them quickly and grabbed Tess' wrist. She jumped in fright. "M-Matt...." Her eyes sparkled with tears. Cassey growled, "I'm not done with her yet!" Cassey tried to snatch Tess back with her hair but Matt simply dragged Tess away by the wrist.

"Wait up!" I said catching up to them. After we all lost track of Cassey, Matt stopped. He then pinned Tess to the wall. He firmly held her shoulders to the wall. "What are you doing?!" I yelled at him.

"Tess....that's the fourth time this month." Matt said sternly at her. "M-Matt!! St-Stop! That hurts." Tess yelped. Matt loosened his grip, "Why didn't you tell me about this?"

Tess looked to the floor, "I...I...I didn't want to worry you guys...." Matt gripped a little harder, "Wrong answer. Tess, I care about you, you know that. Why won't you tell me? I've been watching you over the months ever since I first saw you get pinned to the wall by that girl again that one time."

I was so confused. "Again? What does that mean? Months? Has she been being bullied a lot? How come I didn't know?" I thought in my head. These questions filled my mind. My heart beat got faster and faster.

Tess was shocked to hear this. Her face started to get red. Tears slowly streamed down her face. She whispered softly. "I...I'm sorry...I thought you would think I'm weak....and that I'm a fool..... That I....I..I wouldn't be worthy as your friend..."

Matt suddenly grabbed Tess into a hug. Tess jumped a little. "Next time tell me okay?" He said quietly. Tess burst into tears. She put her face to his chest. "I will...."
She cried onto his chest.

"Awwww...." I said. It was such a cute scene. "So cute!! I want a hug!!" I jumped into their hug as well. They both laughed at me as I laughed along.
