I looked down at my Vans, moving through with the halls with all the other shoes. There were flip flops, DCs, Sanooks, boots, high-tops, and so many more. Some just breezed through, while others seemed to run and jet engine by. My shoes walked and went about their business at a medium pace, while my hands clutched the straps of my bookbag. My bookbag was black and white plaid. At least, it didn't have hearts or stars like some other girly nerds I saw pass by. On the other hand, who was I to talk! I was the one walking to my first period on the first day of school with no one. No one but my shoes were there to walk me to my first period.
