I had made it half way through my second day. I was in the lunch line because I had actually remembered my money. I was so hungry. Starving, really. I picked up a sloppy joe. I didn't care that the popular girls all picked pizza instead. I really didn't! They were anorexic anyway! Ha! I laughed quietly to myself. It felt good degrading the ones who felt they were better than you. Any time, any day!
I sat down next to Natasha again. I had just found out that morning that she rode my bus. I hadn't seen her the day before or ever, but she had just moved so maybe that's why she was now riding my bus. I started to dig in to the sloppiness. It was delicious! A flash suddenly blinded me! I looked up, trying to regain my vision. Oh joy! Guess who had the camera!
"What are you doing?" I questioned Brittany and her friend.
"Ya know I didn't stare so I'd thought I'd just take a pic!" she laughed. Her friend did too.
"No, really?" I said angrily.
"We're in yearbook. Airgo the cameras." she said, gesturing at the one she was holding.
"So what's up with taking a picture of me?"
"Ya know. Just to get a lame pic of you." She laughed again, thinking she was clever.
"Awesome. But really, delete it."
"Um.. you're not a part of the yearbook staff. You have no control over what pictures I put in there."
"Wanna bet? I could just go complain to Mrs. Burbick. I could say I broke up with you, and sadly, you're soooo upset now. All you want is revenge really. Yeah, think I'll go with that."
"You do that."
"Maybe I will. Hey have you seen Miranda?" I didn't feel like coming up with any more witty things to say. It was harder than it looked.
"No, don't think so... " she said sarcastically.
"Really!" I raised my voice.
"She's skipping with Dytrick."
"No... she wouldn't do that." I said, laughing. The thought was crazy. There was no way Miranda would do that. I knew she was becoming pretty popular, but she wouldn't have skipped school, especially with Dytrick!
"Alright. You keep thinking that!"
Brittany and her friend turned around and walked away. Hmmm. Was she serious or just messing with my mind? She did say she would get me. It was something to think about. Those kinda girls always did seem to know how to get back at somebody, especially on all those cliche high school movies. Nah, Miranda wouldn't do that. Would she?
