It Started With A Kiss - Chapter 20

[DAPHNE's POV]

"So tell me about this young man." My mom asked as she took a sip of her coffee.

"Its a long story mom." I said as I took a peek at the front door.

Its been fifteen minutes and there was still no sign of Joshua and my dad. I glanced at the clock hanging on the wall. 2:35 AM.

This is ridiculous. We still have to go to school today! I need some rest. I need to think this through. Why did he kiss me? Well sure I told him to kiss me, but I never thought he'd do it. Does that mean he's not gay?

Suddenly I heard my mom gasped. Confused, I glanced back at the door, only seeing Joshua with a black eye and a bleeding nose.

I stood there in terror. My dad had punched him!

My mom then quickly stood up from the stool and ran wrecklessly towards Joshua. "What happened?!" 

"I punched him." My dad nonchalantly said as he shut the door behind him.

"Why did you do that dad!" I shrieked as I stood beside Josh. "You okay?" I asked with sincere tone.

Joshua chuckled. "Yeah I'm fine. I deserve the punch anyway."

I stood there in disbelief. He's bleeding hard right now and he has a black eye on his face! And yet he thinks he's fine?!

"Daddy why did you have to punch him?!" 

I heard my dad sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Because that bastard is your teacher!"

My eyes widened as my jaws dropped. He told my dad he's my teacher? Idiot!

All eyes were on me and I was breathing hard. My knees were trembling hard as I leaned against the wall for support. I can't do this. This is way too much for me to handle.

"I- I think I need some fresh air." I bluntly said as I grabbed my dad's car keys from the wall and walked towards the door. I had forgot my car at Sharmaine's uncle's place! Whatever, I'll let Sharmaine take it to school today.

"Where are you going?" My dad asked as he grabbed my wrist and spun me around.

"Away from all of you." I candidly said as I shoved my hand away from my dad and twisted the door knob.

"Daphne are you crazy? Its like 2:30 in the morning! Its too dangerous!" Joshua screamed across the hall.

I spun myself around and crossed my arms. "Shut up. Don't act like you care, because you don't."

Before I could let him respond, I turned myself around and went outside. I shut the door behind me and ran towards our driveway. I spotted my dad's yellow mustang and opened the door. I heard my name being called from behind me but I didn't turn around. I went inside and turned the ignition on.

Just as I was about to back away from the driveway, Joshua appeared at the window. I shook my head at him and finally drove off, leaving Joshua running behind me. I looked back at my rearview mirror and I saw a figure slowly disappearing. I sighed and turned to the right. I need to go to the store and buy me a liquor.

And when the daylight comes I'll have to go! But tonight I'm gonna hold you so close! Cuz in the daylight we'll be on our own, but tonight I need to hold you so close. Owooo! Owooooooo!

I've been singing in the past ten minutes. Its the only thing I can do to make myself relax. I really need to start singing again. When I was in middle school, I used to join singing competitions. Practically I won every competition I joined. I was the star of my school.
