Basic survival

So, when you spawn in a completely new world, you obviously have to get some wood. Wood can be obtained by punching trees. One block of wood can give you 4 wooden planks. You can get them by going to your inventory menu which should be empty of everything other than the wood and put the wood in any of the 4 slots of the mini crafting box in your Inventory. It should give you 4 wooden planks. There are 4 types of wood, but they do not affect the quality of the crafted items. Putting one wooden plank in each box of the mini crafting box which requires 4 planks will give you a crafting table. A crafting table is also has a crafting box, but it is 3x3, giving you more crafting opputurnities. Tools can only be created through crafting tables.

Here are the basic things you need for survival. Other stuff are usually to improve your performance, etc. for example potions, enchantments and stuff.

Crafting table. Mentioned in last chapter. It can be used to craft a items, including pure blocks.

Furnace-Crafted with 8 pieces of cobblestone on a crafting table, it requires you to put all of the stone in the crafting table surrounding the middle, which has nothing. A furnace is used to smelt ores, cook food, and make glass.

Basic tools-Pickaxe is compulsory for mining. Axe and shovel are optional unless you really are impatient and want resources fast. However, I recommend making those. Hoe if you want farming.

Chest-You cannot put all your stuff with yourself forever. You basically need a place to store your stuff in case you die, which causes all your items to be drops, which will disappear within 5 minutes of death. A chest is an extra 27 slots which let you put things in and you can come back for them later. Putting two chests beside each other makes a large chest, giving you an extra 27 slots, resulting in a whopping 54 slots. You cannot open a chest if there is a block above it, or there is a cat or ocelot on it.

Shelter-You can build a house of wood or cobblestone. Personally I like cobblestone, but it is your decision. Make a shelter whatever design you like, but make sure you have a roof, glass windows and door. Also ensure the place is well lit, so there will not be mobs spawning.

Bed-Essential to skip to dawn which prevents any mobs from attacking you, and also to set your respawn point. You need three wool of any colour and three wooden planks to make this. Crafting table required. Put three wool in a horizontal format on either the top or middle row, and a row of wooden planks right below it. It is one block high and two blocks long, but you can put a block above the bed and you can still sleep in it. Sleep by right clicking on it.

Combat equipment-Basically weapons and armour. Will be emphasised in combat chapter.

Torch-I know basically everyone know this, but you definitely need torches to prevent mobs from spawning, and you also need to be able to see. Craftable by putting coal above a stick for 4.
