"Danielle!" I screamed, rushing toward her as she turned to me."What? I'm getting this lighter I found."
I held my chest, coming to a halt, while I caught my breath. "Oh, I though you were- I though-"
"You ready to go home?" She asked, walking to the car and leaving me behind.
I followed behind, feeling a bit antsy, before collecting myself.
"Hey, I've been calling you? You alright?" Cam asked, as we walked through the front door.
"Everything is fine, I'm sorry I didn't answer, I didn't hear my phone." He helped my with my jacket, before placing it aside, and following me up to the bedroom.
"I really think I got through to her this time, baby."
"I bet." I heard him mumble uner his breath, loud enough so that I could hear.
"Really, Cam? I heard that."
"I'm just saying, how many times have you tried the same thing?"
"This isn't one of those times. I don't even know why I told you, you never even give Danielle a fair chance."
"A fair chance to do what? Try to get with me, when you're not around, lie about me trying to rape her, cause problems between us?"
"You just don't understand, Cam. You didn't grow up like we did, so you just don't get it."
"Get what?"
"Every decision you make is so simple, it always has been. People like me and Danielle, we learn to accept things for what they are, and keep it moving. Maybe if I grew up the way you did, I would be just as cold hearted and less forgiving as you. But I didn't, so I get over things. You know, I always found something to be pure about you, and that's what attracted me to you the most. I hope I was right after all of these years. I'd hate to be married to a person who can never forgive a someone for past actions."
"You know that's bullshit, Dria. It's crazy how blind you can be when it comes to her."
"She's my sister! What do you want me to do? Throw her out on the streets, when I'm all that she has? She's sick, Cam! Do you really want me to choose between the two of you?"
"I never asked you to do that."
"You don't have to ask me, it shows."
Danielle
I could hear Dria and Cam arguing from my room. As bad as I wanted to confront Cam, I left well enough alone. He was so oblivious to the real problems my sister and I faced. Dria was right, he didn't understand, he was cut from a different cloth, and that's why he couldn't see how we maintained our strong connection, even through all of the crap I caused. I always wondered why she picked Cam, and not someone like Chantel's boyfriend, or even a guy from our neighborhood.
A few minutes later, and I couldn't hear them arguing anymore. Maybe he left, which would be perfect. Things were always better, when it was just me and Dria.
I vaguely remember falling asleep, but I couldn't forget waking up this morning.
"School? Dria, please get out." I groaned as she stood over me with a serious face.
"I'm not playing with you. You're getting back into school, Danielle. Do you really think I'm going to allow you to sit around this house, doing nothing?"
"That's what you've been doing, since I got back! Dria, I'm not going, I hate school!"

"I can't believe this bullshit." I mumbled as Dria signed the last of my enrollment and registration papers.
