sotc: drama by roy woods
"What is this?! Hannah Grace, get down here now!" My mother screamed, making me jump and almost poke my eye out with a mascara brush. It was finally spring break, and I had woken up with plans to go shopping with Luke. It's been a little over a week since the incident, but we are stable again.
"What do you want?!" I yelled back, not wanting to go downstairs. I couldn't wait for my graduation; I would be eighteen, and I would finally be able to move out of here. I would have some independence.
"Come here!" I shook my head, huffing and packing my purse so that I could just leave after I finish talking to her. I walk down the stairs and she is holding a piece of paper, and I figured out that they were my grades as I walked a bit closer. "Really, Hannah! You have an 80% in math?!" I gave her the biggest eyes I could, thinking she was insane.
"Really?" I scoffed. "I'm going out." I stated, giving up. Glancing out the window, I noticed Luke's car in the driveway and a vibration in my pocket, which was probably Luke texting me. I walked towards the door, grabbing the handle and twisting it but my mother's hand grabbed my arm and yanked me back.
"Do you think this is funny? What has happened to you; you used to be so smart!" I blinked away my tears and pulled my arm out of her hand, just walking out to Luke's car.
I got into the car with a huff and I gave Luke a glance; him returning a knowing one.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Luke asked, rubbing my knee affectionately.
"No, I'm fine. She's just been so spastic lately." I sighed. "I just can't wait until school is over."
"That reminds me. Your birthday is soon." A lightening strike of excitement exploded in my stomach and I nodded. "Do you still want to.." He paused.
"Yes." I nodded. "You're the only one I want to lose myself to." I smiled and he nodded.
"You sure?"
"Yes." I chuckled. "Do you want me to change my mind?"
AT THE MALL
I walked into Victoria's Secret and Luke giggled in excitement, causing me to shake my head. I walked directly past the lingerie and instead to the lotions, but I noticed that Luke wasn't behind me anymore. Feeling nervous of where he might've gone, I retraced my steps and found him amazed at a set of undergarments.
"I don't care what you say, but I am buying this for you. It would beautiful on you." I blush and look at the set in awe, as well.
"I-I don't think red is my color." I said in hesitation.
"Oh, don't be so modest; you would look good in anything." He smiled at me.
"Okay. Fine." I purred, smiling. He held the set as I led him to the perfumes, finding one quite delightful and soon after, checking out.
We walked around the mall for a little while, walking in and out of stores when Luke stopped at a store called Spencer's.
"Come on, baby. I just wanna look in here really quick." He pulled me in and I shrugged. Once I stepped in, a certain rack sure did catch my eye. Some of the things looked like the toys in Luke's special box.
"'Like what'cha see?" Luke breathed into my ear, giving me a shiver. He laughed and wandered away, causing me to snap out of my slight trance and follow him. He went by a rack with fluffy handcuffs and clear gels, steering myself away and looking at other things instead.
