this is kinda late but yeah my birthday was September 18th which is also the day honeymoon by Lana Del Rey came out. (I got the vinyl as my bday present).

but I'm gonna do a review (((((:

HONEYMOON 10/10- okay so I never actually got to really hear this song until I got the album and holy shit. this is one of my favorite songs. all the harmonization in the chorus is so beautiful and makes me so happy. I also love the strings. and my dad likes the line that goes 'we both know, that it's not fashionable to love me'. my favorite part is the harmonizing on 'dark blue'. this song is a really amazing start to the album!!

MUSIC TO WATCH BOYS TO 7/10- I had to listen to this song a couple times to start to really enjoy it. I love the cover art for the single too. "aaaaaaaAH, I see you leaving sooooooo I push record and watch you leave." I like the percussion.

TERRENCE LOVES YOU 10/10- this song is a legit masterpiece. I love singing along to it in the car. this is definitely one of my favorites off the album. it makes me so emotional. "and I still get trashed, darlin', when I hear your tunes."

GOD KNOWS I TRIED 7/10- the instrumentals are classic Lana tbh. my favorite part is near the end when she's gettin really into the chorus and starts hittin those high notes. it actually kinda reminds me of Paradise tbh. "I feel free when I see no one, and nobody knows my name." so this really seems to come off as a song about lana's fame and how it effects her.

HIGH BY THE BEACH 8/10- I love listening to this song in the car because the bass is really loud. I also love lana's monologue in it. "lovin' you is hard, being here is harder." and tbh I can relate to this song cuz I wanna get high by the beach, too!!!!

FREAK 8/10- I love California, too, Lana. this song actually gives me chills. "baby, if you wanna leave, come to California. be a freak like me, too."

ART DECO 7/10- the beginning sounds like bubbles ((((: this song has really pretty instrumentals. I love it but it's not one of my favorites. I know a lot of other people have this down as their favorites tho. also it's about azealia banks??? that's what I heard??? "when they all say hello, you try to ignore them 'cause you want more."

BURNT NORTON INTERLUDE 10/10- I know it's only the interlude but damn that shits pleasing. it's actually a poem by T.S. Eliot.

"Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future
And time future contained in time past
If all time is eternally present
All time is unredeemable
What might have been is an abstraction
Remaining a perpetual possibility
Only in a world of speculation
What might have been and what has been
Point to one end, which is always present
Footfalls echo in the memory
Down the passage which we did not take
Towards the door we never opened
Into the rose-garden"

RELIGION 9/10- cute song but tbh the lyrics make me uncomfortable (but I get where it's coming from). you shouldn't worship human beings. they will always make mistakes. the song is really beautiful though and I listen to it a lot. my favorite part is in the chorus when she says "Hallelujah, I need your love." it makes me wanna cry it's so beautiful.

SALVATORE 10/10- this is probably the song I play the most off this album tbh. I'm always attracted to songs with foreign languages in them even if it's just a couple words or a line. "Calling out my name, in the summer rain. Ciao amore."

THE BLACKEST DAY 8/10- i love what this song is about tbh. it's sad and gorgeous. "got my blue nail polish on. it's my favorite color and my favorite tone of song." it's said that she goes through the five stages of grief in this song. Depression in the chorus, denial and isolation in the first verse, anger in the bridge, bargaining in the second verse, acceptance in the outro.

24 9/10- at first I didn't think I would like this song but now I love it so much. I like the little clicky things in it that make it sounds all exotic and beautiful. "if you lie down with dogs then you'll get fleas."

SWAN SONG 7/10- tbh this song really grew on me. "and I will never sing again, and you won't work another day."

DON'T LET ME BE MISUNDERSTOOD 7/10- this is a cover and most people know it because of The Animals. "but I'm just a soul whose intentions are good, oh lord, please don't let me be misunderstood." so this song was originally recorded by Nina Simone and so was The Other Woman from ultraviolence so Lana is obviously a Nina Simone fan.

so, overall this album is a 15/10. I honestly think that it's my favorite Lana album.. it just feels right.
