"I found it washed up on the creek bed right there." Daryl explained, pointing at a spot on the map. "She must have dropped it crossing there somewhere." He told us, as Hershel stitched up his hip.

"Cuts the grid almost in half." Rick said, looking back at Shane.

"Yeah, you're welcome." Daryl said.

"How's he looking?" I piped in, referring to Daryl.

"I had no idea we'd be going through the antibiotics so quickly." Herself commented. "Any idea what happened to my horse?" He then asked Daryl.

"Yeah, the one who almost killed me? If it's smart, it left the country." Daryl told him.

"We call that one Nelly, as in nervous Nelly. I could have told you she'd throw you if you'd bothered to ask." Hershel told him as he finished up. I sat down on the bed next to Daryl and held the cloth on his head for him, dabbing it gently. "It's a wonder you people have survived this long." Hershel added, grabbing a bandage. Rick and Shane left the room, taking the map with them. I helped Hershel wrap up Daryl's head before he left too.

"I'm glad you're okay." I smiled, standing up.

"Where you goin'?" Daryl asked.

"I told Beth that I'd help out with the dinner, I'll come back up later." I told him. He gave me and nod as I walked over to the door. "Get some rest, I love you." I smiled before leaving the room. I headed downstairs and into the kitchen.

"How's he doing?" Beth asked me. I walked over to her and helped her put the food into bowls.

"He's doing fine, Hershel patched him up pretty good, he should be fine." I told her. She smiled up at me.

"How about you two, are you two okay?" She asked.

"Um, we're fine." I mumbled.

"I'm sorry, that's your business, I shouldn't have asked." She apologised.

"It's fine." I smiled. "Don't worry about it."

We were sat around the table eating. In silence. No one would speak. And it wasn't a nice silence either. It was an extremely uncomfortable one. There was only the sounds of clinking cutlery and chewing of food.

"Does anybody know how to play guitar?" Glenn asked, finally breaking the silence. I let other a small sigh of relief. "Dale found a cool one." There was a moment of silence. "Somebody's got to know how to play." Glenn tried again.

"Otis did." Patricia said.

"Yes, and he was very good too." Hershel said before the silence fell back over the group. I sighed and stood up.

"I'm gonna take some up to Daryl." I told them before walking away with a plate of food.

"Wait Piper." Carol called. I turned to face her. "Tell Daryl that he did more for my little girl than her own daddy ever did, tell him I'm grateful for that." She said. I smiled and nodded before walking upstairs. I slowly pulled open the door before stepping inside. Daryl glanced back at me before pulling the sheet up over him.

"How're you feelin'?" I asked, setting the food down on the bedside table.

"As good as I look." He grumbled. I smiled slightly.

"I brought you some dinner, you must be starving." I told him. He glanced back at the food. I leant over and placed a kiss on his forehead.

"Watch out, I got stitches." He said.

"Carol wants you to know something." I said to him. He looked up at me. "She to me to tell you that you did more for her little girl today than her own dad ever did, she's grateful for what you did today." I explained.

"I didn't do anything Rick or Shane wouldn't have done." He mumbled.

"I know." I smirked, walking round to the empty side of the bed. I sat down in front of him. "You're every bit as good as them. Every bit." I said. I leant over and kissed his lips. "You're a great man Daryl, don't let anyone tell you otherwise." I told him before lying down next to him.

"Love you Pipe." He mumbled.

"Love you too Daryl, even you are an arrogant ass." I whispered. I turned onto my side to face him. He had a smirk on his face. He lifted up the covers and gestured for me to come under so I kicked off my boots and climbed under the sheets. I carefully snuggled into his side, placing my hand on his chest

"Hey Pipe?" He said.

"Mmhmm?" I hummed.

"I'm sorry, about earlier. I was such a douche bag to you, sorry." He apologized. I looked up at him and smiled.

"I forgive you." I said. Daryl then wrapped his arm around my waist.

"Oh and I heard about what you did to Andrea." He mumbled.

"She shot you, she deserved it." I told him.

"That's ma girl." He said, kissing my forehead.
