Piper's Point of View.

"Sure this is the spot?" Daryl asked, as he searched the spot where Rick said he'd left Sophia. He had came back to the highway with out her, and obviously, Carol broke out in tears. Shane, Glenn, Daryl and I. followed Rick back into the woods to look for Sophia, first checking the last place he'd saw her. Shane, Glenn and I were keeping watch while the other two looked.

"I left her right here, and drew the walkers way off in that direction, up the creek." Rick explained, pointing in the direction he ran.

"Without a paddle.." Daryl added. "Seems where we've landed." He sighed.

"She was gone by the time I got back here. I thought she'd took off and ran back to the group. I told her go that way and keep the sun on her left shoulder." Rick told us, pointing in the direction of the highway. Daryl walked over to the the bank of the lake.

"Hey, short round, why don't you step off to one side? You're mucking up the trail." He snapped at Glenn who looked down and stepped aside.

"Assumin' she knows her left from her right." Shane commented.

"Shane, she understood me fine." Rick snapped.

"Kid's tired and scared, man. She had her a close call with two walkers. Got to wonder how much of what you said stuck." Shane retorted.

"Got clear prints right here. She did like you said, headed back to the highway." Daryl explained, pointing at the ground at the bank of the lake. "Let's spread out, make our way back." He ordered, as Shane helped him and Rick up.

"She couldn't have gone far." Rick sighed.

"Hey, we gonna find her. She'll be tuckered out hiding in a bush somewhere." Shane reassured. We followed Daryl, who followed the tracks that Sophia had left. He stopped and bent down on one knee, peering at the ground. Shane knelt down next to him.

"She was doing just fine till here, all she had to do was keep going. She veered off that way." He explained, pointing off in the opposite direction.

"Why would she do that?" I asked.

"Maybe she saw somethin' that spooked her, made her run off." Shane suggested.

"A walker?" Glenn asked.

"I don't see any more footprints, only hers." Daryl sighed.

"So what do we do? All of us press on?" Shane asked.

"No, better if you, Glenn and Piper get back up to the highway. People are gonna start panicking. Let them know we're on her trail doin' everythin' we can. But most of all, keep everybody calm." Rick ordered. I nodded, as did Shane.

"I'll keep 'em busy scavenging cars. Think up a few other chores. I'll keep 'em occupied. Come on." He said to Glenn and I. I turned to Daryl, who was now stood up.

"You be careful now, both of you." I said before placing a kiss on Daryl's lips. I pulled back and he nodded. Rick nodded too before I walked over to Glenn and we headed back to the highway. Once we arrived, Shane explained everything to the guys, before suggesting that we move cars for when the guys got back so we could double back down the highway. I'd just helped Andrea move a car, she still looked shaken by that group of walkers that passed by.

"Why aren't we all out there lookin'? Why are we movin' cars?" Carol asked, worried. I walked up and stood by her, placing my hand on her shoulder.

"We have to clear enough room so I can get the R.V. turned around as soon as it's running. Now that we have fuel we can double back to a bypass that Glenn flagged on the map." Dale explained.
