I opened my eyes slowly trying to remember the last thing that happened. That's when it hit me. Jarred's eyes were not normal. Maybe they were contacts and there was a simple explanation for all of this, right? He couldn't be a demon or whatever that guy had said, but he had been really scared and that guy had been taller and more muscular than Jarred.
I tried to move but everything felt so heavy. Like my whole body weighed a ton and all I could really do was look around frantically.
"Jarred?" I asked my voice sounding hoarse and dry as I trying to move my fingers and toes.
Wait that was not a good idea. He kidnapped me and now I couldn't move, this could not end well. I took deep breaths trying to calm myself and waiting for my body to finally to respond.
Jarred walked in smiling. "How do you feel?" he asked.
I struggled to get up in a rush but I only managed to sit up and lean on the headboard of the bed.
"Don't come any closer" I warned putting my hand up.
"Kassandra? I'm not going to hurt you" he said stepping closer to me as if he didn't want to scare me away. But it was too late no matter what he did I was already afraid.
"You were going to kill that man" I argued, voice trembling.
"That was different." he breathed out.
"How?" I asked. "He was a person just like me and you"I yelled at him.
"But he was touching what's mine" he hissed, bringing his face inches away from mine.
"I'm not yours" I said through gritted teeth.
"Your kiss said otherwise" he smirked.
"I only did that to distract you" I replied holding my ground.
"Sure" he responded as he rolled his eyes.
He raised his hand up to cup my cheek, but I flinched turning away. His fingers trailed down to the pulse on my neck. I could feel my heart beating quickly and I knew he could feel it too.
"Feel that" he whispered against my neck causing shivers to rise all over my skin. "I make you feel this way because you're mine" he said placing soft kisses along the base of my neck. I gasped in shock.
"Stop" I hissed too afraid to move.
"You know you don't want me to" he breathed.
I pushed him away and jumped off of the bed suprising us both with my sudden movement.
I had put some distance between us, that was good. There was a phone on the nightstand beside me. I had to call somebody.
"What are you doing?" he asked seeming angry.
"I'm calling my dad" I said in a rush as I dailed his office number which is where he would probably be.
"Hello?" his secretary asked.
"Hi Becky, it's Kassandra I need to speak to my dad" I replied.
"Of course dear, hold on" she said.
The phone was snatched out of my hand so fast I didn't see where it had ended up.
I looked at Jarred to see him holding the phone.
"What was that for?!" I screamed.
"You can't call anybody" he said nonchalantly.
"The hell I can't" I spat angrily. "I need somebody" I said more to myself than to him.
