I grabbed my phone and dialed Jarred's number. I heard it ring once, twice, three times, four, five, six, voicemail. Was I too late?
I ran out of my house not really sure of what to do just wanting to do something when I realized I should've just called Cameron.
I dialed his number and he answeredright away. “What's up Kass?”
“You need to listen to me, but first where's Jarred?” I asked frantically.
“Um, I’m not sure you just woke me up. What's this all about?” he asked.
“I have no time to explain, but Jarred's in danger, the vampires plan to kill him to start the war between your two species.” I said in a rush.
“What? How do you know?” he asked.
“Um...the vampire that bit me told me.”
“He told you this?” he asked.
“Yes, but he was telling the truth, please believe me” I pleaded running back to my room.
I started pacing feeling more anxious by the minute.
My door swung open and Jarred stood there. I ran to him and wrapped my arms around him.
“You're okay!”
“Yeah why wouldn't I be? Cameron told me to come over because of something you said” he said confused.
I put my phone next to my ear. “Thanks Cameron you're the best, that was fast. But please be careful”I warned.
I hugged him again, “I thought something had happened to you”
“Why would make you think that?” he asked.
“The...uh...” I didn't finish, because I was afraid of Jarred's reaction especially after he had threatened to kill him if he say him again.
“The what?” he asked curiously looking at my face.
“Um I had a dream where someone tried to kill you”
“What are you keeping from me? I can tell when you're lying to me just so you know. Besides you wouldn't have called Cameron if it was just a dream.” he said looking at me.
“Well I was just worried about you, and to be fair I called you first.”
“Really? He checked his phone and seeing the missed call shrugged. "Sorry"
I nodded. “I still think you're lying” he said as he leaned down and brushed my lips softly.
All my thoughts seemed to disappear because he was all I could think about at this moment. All I could see were his trusting gray and his soft smile.
“I love you” I whispered.
“I love you too” he said. “But you need to be completely honest with me” he said.
“I can't tell you”
“We are mates destined to be together there is nothing you can't tell me” he said cupping my cheek.
I shook my head. “Can we just drop it?"
“We can do this the easy way or the hard way” he said in a harsh tone.
“Why are you always so controlling?” I asked pushing him away.
“I have alpha blood in me it's in my nature. You're my mate and if this is something that can put either of us in danger I need to know” he said as he held me tight.
