The minute Cameron stepped out I knew he was making a huge mistake, but he told me to trust him and I did. Cameron seemed to be trying to talk to Jarred, but I couldn't hear anything.
"You have no fucking right to take her from me" Jarred snarled. I froze in the seat the voice he was using was scary as hell.
"Yeah? Like you had any damn right to take away from everyone she loved and cared for. You didn't think about that you arrogant idiot did you?" Cameron yelled.
"Give her back-"
"She's not a toy you can just claim and keep for yourself!" Cameron spat interrupting Jarred.
"That's where you're wrong my friend. She can be claimed, and she will be mine soon enough, just you wait and see. Now give her back" Jarred said with a warning tone in his voice.
"No" Cameron said simply.
"Well than the suffering will be on you" he said stepping back.
Jarred looked pretty strong, but I had more confidence in Cameron and he was bigger in size n stature. I didn't want to look at what happened next, but I couldn't help myself.
Jarred crouched and tackled Cameron to the floor jaws snapping wildly. Cameron pushed Jarred away as if it were no biggie.
What the hell, why was Jarred snapping like that? He looked like one of those crazy zombies from a movie. I thought in my mind.
Jarred disappeared from view. I looked around and I was about to open the door when Cameron yelled. "No! Stay in the car he'll be back."
I didn't move. Unsure if how he knew Jarred would be back. Cameron stood up dusting himself off as if the tackle was no biggie.
I saw Jarred running and he looked so frightening, I sucked in a breath. He leaped into the air and the most impossible thing happened. He turned into a furry black wolf with those same yellow eyes.
I gasped. Cameron wasn't stupid this time he ducked. Jarred or the thing that had been Jarred snarled angrily.
It's eyes looked directly at me and he snarled. I flinched scooting as far away from the window as possible. Saliva was dripping from it's jaws Cameron didn't stand a chance, but I didn't know what to do.
The black wolf began stalking Cameron. I was so scared I hadn't noticed, but I was shaking like crazy. What the hell was Jarred? Tears began to fall down my face.
Cameron circled the wolf slowly and carefully. There was a certain beauty about the wolf, but now that it was mad it looked anything but. More like ferocious ans deadly.
It jumped, but Cameron was ready he jumped too. Cameron threw his weight on the wolf. Jaws snapped crazily, but Cameron held it down.
The wolf kicked and scratched so much throwing Cameron off. The wolf threw itself against Cameron and went for the killer bite to the jugular vein.
I heard myself scream. Cameron tried to roll quickly and he did, just not quickly enough. The wolf bit Jarred's shoulder and Cameron yelled out some nasty cuss words I didn't catch.
Cameron threw the wolf and stood up. I felt so helpless and useless. The wolf was directly in front of the SUV and Cameron was hurt. I needed to help him.
I twisted the key and stepped on the pedal. I hit the wolf and heard it whine as I stopped the SUV.
Cameron was holding his arm tightly. I quickly opened the door and he got into the passenger side. I locked the doors and began to drive in reverse.
"Oh my god Cameron I'm so sorry." I said through sobs.
He chuckled. "It wasn't your fault Jarred's a jack ass." I parked the car quickly. "What are you doing?" he asked through hitched breaths. My tears were gone quickly replaced by worry.
"We need to put pressure on the wound." I ripped his shirt in strips and started wrapping his shoulder. He hissed a couple times, but was otherwise quiet.
I started the car again. "We need to go to the hospital, just hold on."
"No...no hospital...jjust...home." he said grabbing my arm. I nodded and drove to my house quickly.
I opened the door and he stepped out almost falling. I grabbed him and put his arm around me and started to drag him into the house. I pushed the door open and I put him on the couch.
He was breathing with more difficulty.
"What happened back there?" I asked running my hands through my hair.
"Jarred's a..." Cameron went into a coughing fit. "A werewolf...and so..." he started coughing again. "So am I" he finished his voice very hoarse and dry.
"I won't hurt you, but I heal faster in my wolf form." he whispered.
I stepped back in utter and complete shock. Jarred was a werewolf, oh my god that explained how he found me so fast in the street that time. It explained the yellow glow in his eyes and he had shifted right before me and bit Cameron.
Cameron said he was one too, but that couldn't be possible he was my best friend. I'd known him for forever if he was one I would already know.
He began wheezing and that brought me back.
"Cameron, what do I do?" I asked. He looked up at me and smiled right before his eyes closed.
