Kassandra's POV

"Kassandra...baby?" I heard a soft whisper, it was Jarred. He had my head cradeled in his lap, and he was shirtless, but I didn't really have the time to oggle him because my neck hurt so bad.

"You came" I said happily, but my voice was all croaky and nasty.

"Of course I came you're my mate I had to." Jarred whispered as he kissed my forehead. I tried to get up, but I was too weak and I was instantly stopped by his voice,"Don't." he ordered.

"But we have to help Cameron" I said starting to spit out blood. The pain that erupted in my head was immense, but I tried to ignore it. He nodded and put me back down on the ground. He went to Cameron and pulled the chain. "O shit!" Jarred cursed. He looked around and found a crow bar.

He was trying to pry the chain off, but it seemed like hard work and it looked as if he was getting slightly weaker. I was looking at his figure, when I noticed he had a wound on his leg and it wasn't looking good. It looked as if there was a fluid spreading through the veins in his leg which was causing it to looked nasty. He managed to remove the chains, but Cameron still lay motionless. The burns were deep in his skin and he didn't seem to be healing. I was really worried about him.

Someone raised me up and grabbed me causing me to scream. Jared turned to look at me and my aggressor, but I couldn't see. He was holding me from my waist, close to his body, and I was too sore to struggle. Jarred erupted in a growl.

"Daniel, we meet again." Jarred growled angrily. Wait did he just say Daniel...this was the vampire that killed my sisters and mother and caused my death.

"We do indeed. Ooh Jarred that cut doesn't look promising." Daniel sneered.

"Let her go" he hissed. I could tell he was going to lose his temer sonn.

"Why?" Daniel asked, "I'm just gonna have a bite."

I froze, please not again. Last time it was so painful. Daniel leaned down and Jarred lunged towards him shifting. He threw me to the ground , but before I hit the ground someone caught me. I felt fear and my head began to spin like crazy as the movement stopped.

"Shouldn't have done that." Daniel chuckled as he put something around Jarred's neck. A silver collar. He had walked right into a trap. Daniel longish black hair semi covered his green eyes, his tall frame towering over me. His handsome face wasn't deceiving because at this moment he looked like the monster he was.

"Jarred" I croaked. Our eyes met briefly and I knew that he needed to be saved. I looked to see who caught me and it was Gabriel. I smiled right before everything started to go black.

-------

My eyes opened and I quickly scanned the area for familiarity. I was not at my house, I was at Gabriel's house. My head started throbbing. I sat up an noticed there was a glass of water and some aspirin on  the table.

I gulped down the aspirin and stood up. I walked over to the bathroom and washed my face. I looked in the mirror and my face was pale. I looked at my neck, to inspect the bite but it a bandage covered my neck. I walked back to the room and I found my phone next to the small lamp.

I looked at the screen and it was 2:00pm. I had 10 unread messages and they were all from the same number. I went to my voicemail inbox and listened to the first one.

"Kassandra in case you don't know I really want to thank you because without you we wouldn't have gotten our hands on the alpha." the message ended there with evil laughter.

Oh no they had gotten Jarred and it was all my fault. I felt small tears forming in my eyes.

I walked out and ran downstairs. There was no one in the hallway and I found Gabriel in the living room. "Gabriel, where's Jarred?" I asked causing him to turn from the tv. Relief flooded his features as he came and embraced me tightly.
