Chapter 13: Rewind

Coco POV

~Three months later~

"No Peaches you know ya ass is supposed come in today." I said over the phone. Peaches was playing games faking dead like I wouldn't come over there and knock some sense into him.

"Girl I got cramps, I think I got my period." He said. I scrunched up my nose. "You are a boy Damian! Now get your ass over here now!" I yelled into the phone before hanging it up. I went back onto the floor, I was conversing with one of my employees when the door chimed. I turned around to great a customer and my stomach started turning.

"Welcome, how may I help you?" I asked her. She grilled me and said "I want some bundles installed."

"Do you have the hair or would you like us to supply you with it?" I asked. "Bitch of course I want you to supply it!" She said disrespectfully. I bit the inside if my cheek to try and contain myself. "Ok please come take a seat in my chair an-"

"Eww no I don't want you doing my hair."

I bit the inside of my cheek harder as I tasted blood. "Well I'm the only one available right now, so I would recommend just getting it done by me." She kissed her teeth at me and swayed over to my chair. I looked in her head and realized it was a bit dirty so I told her to come over to the sink so that I could wash her hair. She didn't see to happy about that and tried to make a scene. "I just want my fucking hair sewed not washed! You think you the shit huh bitch? That's why August left your fat ass and now he's in my bed bitch!" Brandy yelled while pointing her acrylics in my face. I let out a loud breath and smacked her hand out my face. "Listen dirt dirt, not only does your hair stink, but your attitude does too. I'm trying to be nice to you, but you're really pushing it. I don't give a fuck about you or August. At the end of the day I don't fight over no nigga, I fight over money and right now you fucking with my cheddar. Now either sit your little fast ass down and get ya shit laid or get the fuck out of my establishment. Either way I'll still be making enough money to sit my fat ass comfortably in my house that I pay mortgage in and still be able to flaunt in designer shit. Not to mention my hair will forever be laid unlike yours. So now buck if you want to." I said stepping to her. She glared at me and then looked around the room to see all eyes on us. Some of my employers at attention ready to fuck her up if she try anything even some if my customers. "You'd be a dumb bitch if you ain't get your hair done here!" One of the clients yelled as the others agreed.

Brandy stood there fuming, but she knew her ass was looking crazy by the head. She sat down at the sink and I began washing her hair, she was starting to relax until she fell asleep. After I was done washing it I woke her up and led her over to my station. I blow dried, greased and braided her head as I did a vixen sew in. About an hour and a half later her hair was laid and she was handing me my money. She didn't even say thank you as she left. Once the day started to subsided I drove back home where I came in to a sleeping Camry and ....August?

I went up to them on the couch and lightly nudged August's shoulder. His eyes fluttered open and we made eye contact. The look he gave me seemed to be genuinely happy and sad at the same moment. I picked Camry up and he took her back from me. He went to the back to place her in her bed and came back to the front    sitting on the couch next to me.

"How did you get in my house bruh?" I asked confused and creeped out at the same time. He yawned and reached in his pocket showing me the key he had. "You ain't never take the key back remember? You always gave me a spare just in case an emergency happened with Camry or you." He said making me feel dumb. I forgot about that. He got up and started heading towards the door. I walked behind him and grabbed onto the sleeve of his shirt. "It's kind of late, you can stay in the guest room if you want then leave in the morning." I offered. I knew he was tired and I didn't want anything happening to him if he fell asleep at the wheel. He shook his head and said "Nah it's iight, I don't wanna make shit uncomfortable. Thank ya for da' offer though." He said turning around and out the door. I watched him enter his car and drive off. I'm glad he didn't stay, but then I'm sad he didn't. I was walking down the hallway when I saw Camry standing there wiping her eyes with her Doc Mcstuffin stuffed animal.

"What happened mama?" I asked her. "Can I sweep with you mommy?" She asked me as she reached out her arms indicating she wanted me to pick her up, which I did. "Not tonight baby" I said bringing her back into her room. I sung her a lullaby making her immediately fall asleep.   I went to go lay down in my bed and I only laid down for five minutes before I got a knock at my bedroom door. I was walking to go open it "Camry I said not tonight ma-"

"August..." I said standing there shocked. He looked as if he was in a trance standing in my doorway. "I want ya so bad, nah scratch that. I need ya babeh, I know it's gone take a lot to gain your trust and heart back, but I'm willing to do it. That's why I'm not gone touch you, flirt or do no sexual shit. I want us to start as friend again then I want ya ta be mine." He said looking into my eyes. I didn't know what to say until I remembered today. "Aren't you with Brandy and don't lie to me, that'd be really bad for our friendship." I said with my hands on my hips.

He sighed and rubbed his face. "Kinda," he said. I scrunched up my face and said "Elaborate kinda."

"Like I'm with her psychically, but I'm not with her emotionally or sexually. She said she was pregnant and the baby was mine, but I don't know for sure if the baby is mine. So I don't wanna abandon her if that is my seed. Until she has the baby imma try and help her a bit then get a DNA test." He said. My heart hurt and I was honestly praying that it wasn't August baby. I sighed and laced back and forth.

"How can I believe you?" I asked him, he grabbed me and looked in my eyes "Coco I swear on my brother and Camry that I'm not lying to you right now." He said I knew he wasn't lying because he always said that when he was telling the truth. Even though I knew he was telling the truth I had to keep pressing the situation.

"She said you was in her bed last night." I said he scrunched up his face and said "Ya deadass? I wasn't even at ha' damn house ta be in ha' bed, plus she staying with ha' sister so I could I be in ha' bed. Coco I swear I'm not fucking that girl, I will bring ya ta my house right now and everything and ya can check the shit ha stuff ain't there. I'll even go as far as bringing ya ta her sister house." He was fuming at Brandy's lies she was spreading. I snickered and patted his chest and said "Calm down I believe you."

"Nah it's juss that I already fucked up shit for us and I don't want ha' escalating shit." He said. I nodded my head and took his hand as we entered my room. We both got under the sheets and cuddled. "I luh ya girl." He said as I played with his skin long fingers. I was contemplating on whether to say it back or not, I knew he'd be in his feeling if I didn't. "You don't have ta say it right now if ya not ready. I wanted ta' say it cause I mean it and I'll always luh yaaaaa." He sang in my ear as I giggled. He was really changing but by bit cause I knew old August would throw a little fit, or act nonchalant and not talk. I turned over to face him. Our eyes locked and for a brief moment it seemed like I could see the future, and I smiled at the outcome.

"Goodnight Coco." He said. "Goodnight August." I said as he held me in his slim arms. We looked like the number ten, but that just meant we were winning slowly but surely.

Hey guys sorry about taking long, I was literally sick the whole summer, just started my senior year of school and I've had writers block. But, it's finally out so I  hope you enjoy. Ok so this is how it's going to go in order to keep up with things and to make sure you guys get a chapter I will set a schedule.
