Ninth Kiss

My training took longer than I thought not realizing it's been a week since I agreed to portraying Juliet. I could barely keep my eyes open during class and my mind was clouded with impersonating a girl and saving up my allowance for a new sketchbook. It was then my daydreaming came to a halt when the teacher slammed a book on my desk.

"Miss Hayate." the teacher scolded at me, "I will not allow a student to sleep throughout my lecture. Even though this is your final year, this course determines your future. Now stay focused."

"S-sorry, ma'am." I responded humiliated. The other classmates snickered behind me from that embarrassing scene. Chris shush them and gave them a death stare. They stopped laughing and looked straight at the whiteboard. As the school bell rings, everyone rushed out the classroom leaving me and Chris alone. "Hey Chris...."

"I told Penny about you." she interrupted, "No need to feel uncomfortable around me."

"R-right...." I looked away, "You still saw my body!!!! I will not forgive myself exposing my naked self to a boy!!!!"

Chris looked at me weird and bursted out laughing hysterically. "You really amaze me, Hayate."

"That's not funny!!" I argued with her as we walked out the classroom, "I'm surprised you weren't caught by anyone. Speaking of that, how did you pull off your application as a girl?"

"It's not hard. you just say you're a girl and hand them in.... and hope for other people not finding your true identity." she bluntly answers.

"But still, throughout P.E. and during health examinations, HOW?!" I pestered more.

"Penny and I came from a rich family. That means we have our own family doctor to examine our health annually." she bluntly answers once again.

"But...." I tried asking more question but then was interrupted by Penny hugging from behind.

"HAYATE!!!!!!" she squealed, "It's awful!! It's awfully awful!!! Please tell me what Chris just told me is not true!! Don't tell me you're going along with the Juliet plan too?!" I stared at Chris and she shrugged looking away.

"I had to tell her." she pouted. I look back at Penny and gave a forced smile.

"We-well.... it's true." I quietly confirmed. Penny then turned me and shook me nonstop.

"I will not allow this!! NO!! Not with that bastard!!!" she refused the admit, "I will not allow my best friend to get hurt by that awful guy who broke every single girl's heart whenever the plan failed!!"

"Exactly... how many girls failed his little plan?" I raised an eyebrow from curiosity.

"Erk.." Penny stopped and tried counting in her head.

"Just trust Hayate, Penny." Chris pulled her away from me, "Even Hayate told me herself she won't fall head over heels like the previous girls."

I sighed in disgust how many girls fell for his charms. "Besides it's only until he finds the real Juliet right? But why is it taking this long to find her though? Doesn't her family have the money to find her far and wide?"

"Her parents were killed." Penny answers quickly, "Juliet was taken care under the Rice family and was pushed to marry Damien to keep family name known around the world."

"It was until after a few weeks of their engagement, she went and vanished without telling anyone, not even her fiance, where she was going." Chris continued the story, "Some say she was kidnapped for ransom. Others say she was also killed because of her family name."

"So what does her family do? Chocolatiers?" I asked disinterested.

"Her family were jewelers." they both answered, "Her family makes the finest jewelry that are worth millions. But because the founders are killed, their company fell apart and Juliet was the only one who's alive."
