The guilt of not telling Rick the truth dominated my mind leading me having a sleepless night. I should've told Rick the truth. He deserves to know it. But it will also put him in danger if he knows about Juliet. I tossed and turned over the mattress until I hear a knock on my door.
"Lady Juliet," Marta calls out on the other side, "breakfast is ready. Damien wants to see you before he leaves for work."
I jumped off of bed and shook my head to keep my eyes wide open. "Alright, I'll be downstairs in awhile." I didn't bother freshening myself or take a bath, so instead, I quickly put together some comfortable outfit and pulled my hair up into a messy bun. Contacts. Contacts. Where did I put them? I scurried through my dresser searching for my contact lens. Juliet never wore glasses and I was forced to wear contacts thanks to Rick. I found and put the contacts on and used a little body spray to disguise my body odor. Walking downstairs and to the dining hall, I see Damien eating by himself while looking over some paperwork.
"Good morning, darling." I greeted as I peck his cheek from behind. He looks back and smiles gently as he lightly pats my cheek.
"Excited to go dress hunting?" He asks.
"A little. I don't know the rules when finding a dress." I groaned softly as I seated myself next to him. The servant brought my breakfast in front of me and poured a cup of coffee with a little cream and sugar. "Have I went dress shopping before... you know...?"
"You have." He emphasis on the real Juliet, "But you didn't want to show me what the dress looks like."
"Oh.. well of course" I took a small sip of my coffee, "After all, it's bad luck if the groom sees what the bride looks like before the wedding."
"Aren't you happy though, Juliet?" He places his hand over mine as I gazed at him from surprise. I'm Juliet. I have to think what she'll say.
"I'm most overjoyed being with the man I love dearly." I pulled a soft fake smile. "Soon, I will be called not as your best friend or your lover, but as your wife."
Just gazing at his cocoa eyes, I can tell he's hurting that the real Juliet isn't here. But I can also read his mind he knew what I said is exactly what Juliet would say as well. As he finishes the remaining meal, he stands up and kisses the top of my head.
"Have fun at your dress shopping, dear." He walks away and leaves for work. Juliet is lucky having a fiancé like him, but I wish she could trust him to protect her instead of running away further from her troubles. I ate very little, left the table, and waited by the door for my driver to take me out soon.
While waiting, I receive a text message.
You're going to the bridal shop?
The sender was Bryan, but how did he figure out I was going there?
Yeah. It will just be me, my friends, and Rick.
Maybe I shouldn't mention Rick.
Where at? I want to help out, too.
Is he serious? He wants to help me shopping for my fake wedding.
Cut the crap. Why do you really want to come over?
I know Bryan. He doesn't like looking for clothes unless it's a hand me down.
Juliet wants to meet you.
That explains it.
She probably knows where it'll be since it's the same place where she found her dress.
