It was about 9 pm when I left my seat by the window. I glanced down at the lower buildings that I could see and a man had his curtain open. It took me a moment to realise he eyes were looking in my direction. My stomach dropped and I panicked. My reflexes kicked in and I dashed away from the window, nearly breaking a flower vase in the process.

"There is a man in that building and he was looking at me." I thought to myself "How long has he been staring? Is he still there?" I continued. I shifted my weight on one foot, than the other, debating on what I should do.

"Emilia, pretend like you didn't see him" A part of my brain told me.

"Maybe it wouldn't be too bad to just take a peek." Another part said.

"Curiosity killed the cat."

"Yes, but satisfaction brought it back."

I groaned, and paced for a couple of minutes.

"One last look." I said out loud to nobody in particular as I made up my mind.

I peeked my head around the curtain to see him still in the room; he was sitting on his bed and drawing. He had raven black hair and skin as pale as my own. He was wearing a grey tee shirt and black skinny jeans. From what I could see, he was attractive. Just my luck, a creepy, yet attractive neighbor.

I'm not sure how long I'd been looking at him, but his phone began to ring and he went to answer it. I laughed at myself because I was being creepy as well.

"Perfect time to go for a walk." I thought to myself as I snapped out of the trance he seemed to have me in momentarily. I grabbed a sweater off of the coat rack and slid it on. I pulled my fake Doc Martins onto my feet and looked in the full body length mirror by the door. I was wearing all black, as usual and my makeup looks pretty good. Before I left I checked on this 'mysterious neighbor'. I saw he was still on the phone, back in his room and as he talked he'd glance over at my room. My stomach dropped once again and my breathing sped up. I quickly walked out the door and locked it behind me after putting my earphones in.

"I hope he wasn't talking about me" I thought.
"I bet he was" My brain quickly stated.
"Shut up" I said out loud as I put on my walking playlist and smirked as a song I liked came on.

"In all honesty, I don't know where I'm going." I thought as I walked into a forest with a convenient little path. The moon was high in the sky and the temperature had dropped quite a bit. It felt like -15° Celsius. There weren't many clouds in sight but the wind was pretty strong, pushing the few clouds in the sky away quickly. My arms were wrapped around my torso, not helping control my temperature one bit.

I stopped walking and realised I was completely surrounded by tree's.

"Don't cry, don't cry." I whispered to myself, realising I was lost. I bit my bottom lip and shut my eyes tightly.

"Need help?" A man asked from behind me, making me jump. I turned quickly to find none other than my mysterious and handsome neighbor.

"U-uh..." I stuttered.

He chuckled "I'm Gerard" He said with a smirk, extending his arm.

I hesitated at first, but slowly shook his hand.

"I'm Emilia" I said, nearly in a whisper.

"Hello, Emilia. You look quite lost, and if I'm not mistaken we live quite close, right?"

I nodded.

"Would you like me to bring you home?" He asked while shoving his hands in his pockets.

I nodded again, looking down at my feet.

"Well then, come on." He laughed as I began trailing behind him.
