Gerard's P.O.V

I walked back into the house to find Mikey on the sofa with his head in his hands. He looked up when he heard me walk in.

"Did you get it?" He asked with his voice full of hope.

"Yeah." I smiled as he pulled his phone out.

I read him her phone number slowly, making sure he got it. He read it back to me and I nodded.

"Imayhaveaddedyournameontoherphone..." I said faster than I thought my tongue would allow. Then, I paused to breathe, continuing seconds later. "So when you text her, she'll knOW IT'S YOU PLEASE DON'T BE ANGRY." I said cautiously at first, raising my voice at the end. I was scared of how he'd react to the unscripted move.

At first he looked angry, extremely angry. I closed my eyes and braced for the impact of his harsh words, but they never came. I opened one eye to see him smirking, which progressed into a full on smile.

"You're brilliant." He nearly whispered after a long pause. He held his hands infront of his mouth, nearly muting his words of awe.

I opened both of my eyes to slowly smile back at him, releasing a breath I didn't remember holding.

"Anything for you, Mikey." I said while ruffling his hair on my way back to my room.

When put my coat away in my closet, I picked up the dirty laundry off my cold, worn out, hardwood floor.

"DO YOU HAVE ANY CLOTHES YOU WANT WASHED?!" I yelled out to Mikey as I walked to the laundry room with an assortment of dirty clothes cradled in my arms.

"NO, IT'S OK!" I hear from the far end of the house, assuming the voice is coming from his bedroom.

"OKAY." I hollered back, turning on the lights to the laundry room. The room was dimly illuminated by the small lightbulb hanging from the ceiling. The room was anything but warm and inviting. From the stone floor that freezes anyone's feet instantly, to the translucent and unfinished walls. The room had an odd vibe.

I quickly separated what whites and colours I had in the pile of mostly black clothes, and threw in the largest load first, placing the rest of the laundry aside. I turned on my heel to find Mikey standing in the doorway, making me jump.

"Jesus fucking Christ, Mikey, you scared me." I said clutching my chest, attempting to slow my heart beat.

"Sorry..." He muttered while looking down. He looked back up at me a few seconds later and blurted "I don't know what I'd do without you, Gee."

"Aw-" I was about to say as I got tackled in a hug. I held my lanky brother in my arms and rubbed his back, as I'd usually do when he was feeling appreciative or upset. He gets upset occasionally, one of the most memorable times was when he got dumped in college. Him and his girlfriend at the time were inseparable back in the day, but after the puppy love died out... she cheated on him. That bitch chose a popular party animal, who would rather be out getting wasted ad hooking up with anyone he found attractive, over my dorky, lovable little brother. She broke his heart and he came home that night with the most heart wrenching mixture of anger and sadness. The poor guy punched a hole in his bedroom wall and locked himself away for hours until I convinced him to let me in.

After a few moments, I was snapped back into the present time. He let go and smiled, I smiled back and told him I was going to bed. He nodded and walked back to the living room.

I sat on my bed and looked out the window. I saw that Emilia had shut her curtains.

"Smart girl" I thought.

Emilia isn't the worst person.... Actually, I find she's extremely nice, despite the shyness in her. She's definitely Mikey's type. I can see the similarity, that's for sure. It almost makes me feel bad for the way I have to play along with Mikey's plan.

I noticed her lights were still on, so I decided to text her, surely Mikey won't get upset over a little text.

<<Goodnight Emilia, sweet dreams.>> My thumb hovered over the send button before closing my eyes and sending the message to the girl next door.

I got into my pajama pants and got into bed. I looked around my room at the occasional band poster. The Smashing Pumpkins, Misfits, The Smiths and Iron Maiden. I saw The Smashing Pumpkins live with Mikey one time. It was incredible. The crowd was roaring, there were large smiles on everyone's faces (Mikey and I's faces included). It made us both want to amount to something like that someday. To be able to make fans smile, and to- I heard my phone vibrating. I grabbed it from my bedside table and I had a text from Emilia. My eyes had adjusted to the darkness, so I had to squint in order to read her text.

<<You too Gerard, goodnight. >> It read.

"She's too kind. It's such a shame she's so young, and we're about to put her through so much." I thought.

I sighed as I put the phone back on my bedside table. I suppose I should try to sleep. So, I shut my eyes and waited for unconsciousness to arrive.
