Best Friend

Falling in love is a great feeling but falling in love with your best friend is the best feeling.

As he walk home from school, there he saw a girl being cornered by two big guys as if they were attempting to do something bad to the girl.

He run to their direction and punch the two guys. There he said, "Leave her alone or you'll be dead."

The two guys scared, nodded and dash off the area quickly.

"Are you okay?" He ask to the girl.

The girl look at him, tears on her eyes, nodded. He can't stop staring.

She had a short, scarlet hair. Her brown eyes filled with tears. He looks like as if he was starstrucked.

He wipes the tears using his thumb. "Thank you," she said before giving him a quick hug.

He gave her a smile, "I'm Jellal. Jellal Fernandes. What's your name?"

"Erza Scarlet," she replied.

He grinned at her and said, "Scarlet, like the color of your hair."

The rest of the hour they talk and get to know each other. They realized that they were both studying at the same school. Before they part their waves, he walked her back her home and their said their good byes.

As she sit on her chair, she looks at her window. The sky is clear, the moon is bright and there are many stars that she couldn't count it all.

It make her reminded of him.

In their conversation awhile ago, he said he had interest about stars and the beyond. It made her smile.

She close the lamp and lay down on her bed, she won't forget this day for the rest of her life and slowly drifted to sleep.

As the years pass, the celebrated their anniversary. They become super duper close. They were inseparable. They were so close that they fell madly in love with each other.

After the encounter with the two guys, Erza studied martial arts. She was very strong that even the guys in the school get scared whenever she's there, after all she's the president of the student council. She looks strong but whenever she's with Jellal, she is different. She looks like the happiest human being when with him. She get stuttered, flustered and embarrassed when with him.

Since the fateful encounter with her, Jellal become active in his studies and in sports. He played basketball, volleyball and football. Due to his athletic skills, he became famous around school. Many girls have a crush on him but someone already stole his heart, it's Erza. His feelings for her grew as he watch her grow, her hair now longer than before.

There friends knew there feelings for each other but they want the two of them discover it from each other, not from them. So when they have their lunch, they will sit them next to each other.

Today is their seventh anniversary, as always Jellal will buy a strawberry cake with a candle on top. They would always celebrate their anniversary on their treehouse.

"Happy anniversary to our friendship." He greeted and hugged her. That simple action made them both blushed.

"Yeah, happy anniversary to us," she said happily.

They both blew the candle and eat the cake. The stand up when Jellal tripped and fell right on her. Gladly, he didn't grope her.

They remained there, staring at each other's eyes. They lost themselves, just staring at each other's eyes. They lost themselves that they didn't realize what they were doing.

Erza slowly cupped his face bringing his face down to her, slowly closing her eyes. He closed his as their lips connected. Their lips move on a rhythmic movement. They parted because the need of air.

Jellal opened his eyes and saw a blushing Erza. His senses returned, "oh no," he thought.

"I'm so sorry." He apologize, standing up and he help her get back on her knees.

"No, I'm sorry, I just got carried away," she apologized, not letting go of his hand.

Awkward silence filled the area that is until now...

"It's my first you know," he confessed. The confession made her surprise, since he was a heartrob at their school.

It made her smile because it's both their first time. "Same," she said, embarrassed.

His eyes widen, he wanted to celebrate but first he have to clear things out. "There's this thing I want to say, I like you so much Erza, I'm sorry, I know you don't return my feelings but-" he was interrupted.

Her heart exploded when she heard the words she want to hear. She didn't want to hear him apologize so she get on her toes to match his height and give him a quick kiss.

"Stop apologizing. We're both oblivious, you know. By the way, I like you too," she said clearly.

He gave her a smile and held her on the waist. "There's this place downtown, that has a great strawberry cake and-"

"Are you asking me out?" she ask and gave her a nod. "I'd love to."

He smiled and leaned down to kiss her.
