A/N: Hey. It's Vanessa. Sorry for being inactive for so long but I have many chapters that are in preparation for publication. Hope you enjoy!

At 5 o'clock that evening, it was time for Hiccup to meet Heather at her house. Hiccup got changed into his casual clothes and was on his way to Heather's house. Once he reached at her front doorstep, he knocked on her door.

As the door opened, Hiccup was in shock. Heather was dressed up all fancy in a very pretty, red, wool dress and fixed her hair in the same style as Astrid's hair. As Hiccup gazed at Heather's hair, the as perfectly side braid like Astrid. His thoughts transferred to Astrid. He happily thought of how nice her hair looked, how she smelled, how whenever he looked into her eyes, he felt invincible, like there was nobody but them in the world. Could it be love? But then, his feeling of love turned to anger. Anger towards Ryder and towards him even more when he's around Astrid.

Hiccup was no longer looking at Heather's hair. He wasn't even looking at Heather anymore. He was staring at the wall above Heather. He was daydreaming about Astrid and Ryder and what they could be doing this very moment- talking, giggling, holding hands, maybe even kissing. The possibilities were endless.

Hiccup continued thinking about his girlfriend having an amazing time with this imbecile, while Heather was confused, staring at Hiccup.

"Uh, Hiccup. Are you okay? You seem to be lost in a train of thought," Heather said concerned.

Hiccup didn't even notice how far his thoughts reached and for how long but he came back to reality as soon as Heather spoke.

"Oh no. Never mind that." Hiccup slowly looked at Heather completely and said, "Heather you look very nice." They both smiled at each other.

"Thank you Hiccup," Heather said as she started to blush in flattery.

Heather shut the door behind her and they began their walk around Berk. Ryder said that he was going to meet Astrid at the dock, so that's where Hiccup and Heather were going to go.

They were on their way to the dock. "This is it," he thought. If he didn't make it believable then all this was for nothing. It meant that Ryder won and that he would lose Astrid to him forever. He would probable ask Astrid to travel around the world with him and his amazing dragon!

Hiccup didn't think that Ryder's dragon was so great! Toothless was so much faster and better than Glider. Thoughts of Astrid and Ryder came rushing into Hiccup's mind.

He sweaty hands clenched into a fist as Hiccup got more angry. Sweat was dripping from his forehead, down his face and into his shirt. Hiccup was angry. He didn't even notice the sweat on his face.

Hiccup was gone. Not physically gone but his mind was somewhere else; in another world where Astrid was with Ryder and they were living happily ever after. This angered Hiccup a lot.

Heater just stared at him with a confused look on her face and soon after asked if he was okay. Hiccup returned to reality once again. He looked at Heather with embarrassment and apologized. He wiped the seat off his face. Now, there was only silence.

"So Hiccup, where are we going?" Heather asked a few minutes later.

Hiccup turned towards Heather and replied, "Oh Heather, we're going to have a picnic on the beach of Berk. It'll be right next to the dock where we could watch the sun set and the stars glimmer and shine."

Hiccup was aware that what he said seemed romantic. But that was all a part of his plan, he convinced himself. He needed Heather to act like she liked Hiccup as more than friends; in a flirtatious way. All to make Astrid jealous.

"Oh Hiccup, that sounds delightful," Heather said as her smile grew bigger.

As they were walking towards the beach, Hiccup felt a tingle on his left hand. When he looked down, he saw Heather's hand approaching his. Heather's hand slowly got closer to Hiccup's until they were finally in contact with each other. Hiccup watched as it happened and held in his breath when they finally touched. Hiccup was aware that Heather was going to hold his hand but didn't stop her. He was also aware that they were currently holding hands but wasn't stopping it either. He tried to convince himself that it was a part of the plan to make Astrid jealous. But maybe that was just a excuse to deny the fact that it could've been about something else. Hiccup was even more confused than he was at the beginning of the day. Questions flew around his mind but he had no answers for any of them, which was weird because Hiccup was known for his excellence on problem solving as he was the chief of Berk.

Hiccup was relieved when they finally reached the dock. But to Hiccup's surprise, Astrid and Ryder were gone. There was no one at the dock. And Hiccup had no idea where Astrid was...with Ryder.
