Chapter 21

I bit my lip and twiddled my thumbs as I heard murmuring in my headteachers office. What have I done! I've ruined this all! They're not going to keep my secret! They're adults always stick to their 'morals' and do what's right!
"Charl..." my headteacher called but stopped to think what to call me and then said, "Moo..." I glared at her to stopped as I stood on my feet and trailed to the door.
"Well," she said, twiddling her thumps. "You know why you're here don't you?" I nodded, my heart had sunk so far that it was no longer in my body. This was the end... I just knew it was!
"So how's this going to work , Charlie," my headteacher asked, emphasising my fake name. I looked confused. And she smiled at me.
"This is crime, mistaken identity, but we will keep your secret!" I must have looked like and idiot because my mouth was open so wide, it must have been touching the floor! But? What? HOW? WHY?
"We will email all your teachers to tell them that Monna is actually in school. We will change your name on the register from Moona to Charlie." She told me.
I felt so happy that I could cry or hug the old bat or literally do a dance there and then!
"Are you... are you, like, serious?" I stammered.
"Deadly!" She said smiling. "We understand that you will not be the quiet, angelic pupil you used to be, but you need to be in order! You need to understand, you will take any punishment you receive and you must try your hardest in test and get good results!" She instructed. "Understand?"
"I understand! I couldn't thank you enough!" I said, a massive smile on my face.
"I know things were hard for you. That's the only reason why you did this, yes?"
"Yeh..."
"Now... about this fight!" Her smile fading and her face turning to stone. "Nat is severely injured. You will both have to write pupil statements. You will both have a 2 hours detention after school tonight! Now get out my office!" ordered my headteacher but she had a smile across her face.
I nodded, said a last thank you and walked out her office.
Looks like everything will be easy...
