Chapter 17: Part of the Pack

"Hey, Raven!" Kiba called as I walked down the street. I turned and his smile turned to a frown. "Are you ok?" He brought his hand up and gently touched the bandage over most of my eyes, only leaving me a small space to look through, and trailed down to the one around my neck. I gave him a soft smile.

"Yup! We ran into some... uh... problems, on our last mission. I got a little banged up but I’m ok." My smile never wavered. Ever sense he gave me his jacket in the hospital that day, we became close friends. Akumaru wined a little after he sniffed the bandage around me head. Kiba raised and eyebrow.

"Blood you say? Hm... What could make the great Raven’s eyes bleed?" I started to laugh but saw Sasuke heading our way. An evil thought crossed my mind. Naruto told me that when I ran off they thought he made my eyes bleed. This could be fun. I did a fake sniffle when I knew Sasuke could hear us.

"Sasuke did it..." I rubbed my eye through the bandage. Anger flared up in his eyes and his head jerked towards Sasuke. Sasuke met his gaze with a cool glare.

"And how did he manage that?" Kiba growled, as did Akumaru. Sasuke never stopped walking. Once again he pushed past me, causing me to fall forward. Luckily, Kiba caught me in his arms. Akumaru barked at Sasuke but he never turned around. "That bastard."-He looked down at me-"Are you ok?" I nodded.

"Thank you." Anger started to boil in my stomach again.

"Be careful around him. He’s nothing but trouble." What Kiba did next shocked everyone that could see, mostly Sasuke who was sitting in the tree near them. He leaned in and kissed my cheek. He gave her a warm smile again and walked away. ‘Did he... did he really just... kiss me?’ I thought. Slowly I turned and walked to where we were supposed to meet the team.

We got back from our mission right after lunch. Sakura had to practically carry Naruto back. The whole time I couldn’t stop thinking about the kiss. It was sweet and nice. I tugged at my sleeves while Kakashi told us he had to report back. "So what’s going on in between you and that mutt?" Sasuke asked leaning against a tree. I glared at him.

"What do you care?" I resorted. He blushed slightly and looked away.

"N-nothing."

"That’s what I thought." I turned and walked away. I just walked, not sure where I was going. It wasn’t long till I heard Kiba call my name. I looked up to find myself in front of his house. A smile crept on my face as he ran to get me.

"You want to go get something to eat? It’s on me." I laughed.

"You don’t have to pay for me." I said.

"Maybe I want to. Please? We could go get barbecue!" He smiled more.

"Ok." With that being said, we walked to the barbecue place. Unknown to us, a jealous Sasuke watched from the shadows.

It was still around noon when we left. He held his arms out like he wanted a hug. With a sigh I jumped into his arms.

Kiba’s POV

I help my arms out and she jumped into them. My face heated up as the smell of her ocean spray shampoo. I loved Raven’s hugs! They where the best treasure ever. I turned to find myself face-to-face with none other than, Sasuke.

"What was that about?" He asked.

"What? You don’t like the idea of me and Raven being together?" I laughed.

"What could she possibly see in you, that she can’t get from me?" His stare was cold.

"Hmm.... Maybe it’s because I’m nice to her?" He flinched away and I laughed. "Get real, Sasuke."-I turned and started to walk away-"I’m way more of a man then you! I will never hurt Raven, unlike you, who almost got her killed twice."
