Chapter Twenty Two

I didn’t know where I was. The room seemed to be an old abandoned changing room. I was alone but I could hear a muffled shouting from a different room. Looking around, there was no one else to be seen. I stood up from my sitting position on the bench and walked towards the door. As I passed a mirror, I felt sickened by my reflection. My hair was scruffy and I had hardly any makeup on, seeming as though I had been crying for a while, but I just couldn’t remember anything.

I persisted out of the door and came to a long and dark corridor. The muffled shouting becoming slightly louder as I nervously turned right and continued along the passage. I came to large blue door with the paint slightly chipping off. Not knowing what else to do, I pushed it and quietly slid into the room. To my surprise, it was full of people, mainly boys but there were a couple of girls there too. All of their attention seemed to be directed towards the centre of the room where a large boxing ring stood.

Still feeling confused, I continued along the crowd of people until I saw a table with a space on it. I sat down, still not knowing where I was. “Who do you want to win?” the boy next to me asked. I shrugged as I still wasn’t sure what on earth was happening. This was a fight of some sort, but who was it, and why was I here? My attention then diverted towards the boxing ring where two figures were fighting. However, this wasn’t any normal boxing match, they seemed to be beating each other aggressively with their bare fists, not following any sort of ‘rules’.

The room was growing louder as one of the men fell to the ground and the other dived on top of him, pounding his merciless fists into his weakening body. Not being able to see, I stood up on the table to get a better view. I felt sick to the stomach with the view that I had captured. I knew exactly who was in the ring. It was Harry. And instead of him being the winner, he was the one being beaten. I screamed but no one seemed to hear me. I cried out his name to get his attention but he just seemed to become weaker and weaker with every punch that he sustained.

I jumped from my position on the table and pushed my way through the sweaty crowd surrounding the ring. Upon reaching the ring, Harry turned his head and engaged eye contact with me. I screamed to his opponent to get off him, but he just ignored me. My heart race was increasing rapidly and still unsure of what was going on, I burst out crying.

“Harry! Get up Harry!” I screamed but he remained still and silent, staring at me. He winked and presented his dimples with his usual cheeky smile. Unable to continue watching, I leapt forward and grabbed the ropes of the boxing ring. “Can’t you see you’re killing him?” I screamed at his opponent but he wouldn’t look up. My attention then re-diverted to Harry who was inches away from death. I cried hysterically, knowing that Harry was about to die right before me. “I love you” he mouthed. “I love you too” I screamed at his weakening body. I reached out to grab his hand but with one more swing from his opponent, Harry was dead.

I woke up startled. Tears were streaming down my face as I grabbed my head in my shaking hands. “Baby, what’s wrong?” I heard Harry mumble next to me. I couldn’t hold the tears in and I reached forwards and wrapped myself in Harry’s embrace. He flicked the light on from my bedside table, his eyes struggling to stay open from the light that had now flooded the room. He looked worried. “Bella?” he persisted. I shook my head, still not able to let go of Harry.

“Have a bad dream?” he asked, warmth and comfort in his voice. “It was so real Harry. We were in this abandoned gym and you were in a fight with this huge guy” I whispered. “Did I win?” he said cheekily with a wink. Fury overcame me. “No, you didn’t win; I watched you get fucking killed Harry!” I said with anger in my voice. His eyes widened and he shifted in the bed, becoming very nervous. There was silence for a couple of seconds before he spoke. “Don’t worry Bell, that won’t happen. Trust me”

I felt relief wash over me with his words. I was happy that Harry didn’t fight and wasn’t planning on going into a boxing ring anytime soon. I know he had strong anger issues, but I know that he didn’t fight, otherwise he would have told me by now. I was just happy to have him safe with me so that I wasn’t alone. “Good, because I don’t want to watch you fight” I whispered before locking into a passionate kiss with Harry. Although I was happier, I couldn’t help but notice that Harry was being suspicious and distant from me.

I decided to ignore it and engage in a warm embrace with him. “I like you too much Harry. I can’t lose you” I whispered into his arms. He kissed the top of my head, staying silent. Clearly this nightmare had affected him just as much as me, but I’m sure that we would both wake up feeling better in the morning. I drifted off into a deep sleep again wrapped in Harry’s arms as usual.

*Harry’s POV*

I felt nervous. Knowing that Bella was having dreams about me fighting and saying that she didn’t want me to fight overwhelmed me. Surely she doesn’t know about the UFC? If she did, I was in big trouble, but what if she didn’t? I couldn’t tell her because she’d go crazy. I loved Bella and I didn’t want to hurt her, but I knew that I would be able to take on the guy that I was set up to fight, especially if I had the steroids to help me. I’d have to tell her sometime, but when was the real question. I lay awake for hours, cradling the beautiful girl as she silently slept.
