"Are you hungry?"
"Hell yeah. You expect me to come to a Wendy's and just sit here? Even if I wasn't hungry I'd probably still eat." Way to go Liv, make yourself look like a fatass.
He shakes his head as he laughs and both of us get up and walk to the front of the restaurant to order. I don't know why there is such a big line for the drive thru when there isn't a single person inside. Ha, suckers.
"Ladies first."
I smile at him and recite my order to the cashier. "I'll have two orders of 6-piece chicken nuggets, a small order of fries, and a vanilla frosty."
I go to pull out some money but Vinny stops me. "It's okay, I got it."
I look at him, "Are you sure?"
He smiled, "Yeah it's my treat."
He then looked at the cashier and said his order. "I'll have a baconator, fries, and a large fountain drink."
He leaned over to me and smirked, "Ready for a laugh, Ollie?" I looked at him skeptically but nodded as he paid for the order.
"Name sir?" the man at the cash register asked.
Vinny leaned over and said something and the cashier began to chuckle. Shaking his head with a wide smile he types in "Daddy" as Vinny's name. Genius, pure genius. How come I didn't think of this before, I've always just given them my name "Olivia" or "Liv", well that ends today.
"We need another order of fries for Daddy!" the cashier yells. By now we have most of the staff laughing and I am holding my side barking with laughter with only a very proud Vinny keeping me up. It wasn't long before it was ready.
"Daddy's Order!"
Vinny proudly walked up and swiftly grabbed our tray and headed towards the soda machine.
Ah the soda machine, another reason why Wendy's is better than McDonald's. It has like every flavor and it's touch screen. Sometimes I just press every button like it's a game. It feels like I'm in some futuristic world. It's like a big phone that gives you soda. I look over at and see him filling his cup halfway with Coke, a splash of Coke Cherry and then fills the rest with Sprite.
"Eww, what the hell?"
He turned around with his eyes furrowed looking confused. "What?"
"Please tell me you didn't just mix three flavors together? That's so gross."
"Have you ever tried it?"
"No." I mumbled.
"Then you can't say it's gross." Touche.
We both started laughing a little and headed back to our booth. Vinny and I are sitting in front of one another and share a smile before we distribute whose food is whose. We start eating for a few minutes before we come back up for air and start talking.
"So how was your day?"
"It was fine, my parents were being as irritating as always. The name "Nessa" didn't even come up in a conversation at the lunch that was for her."
"It's probably really hard for them to talk about."
I looked down at my food and said "Yeah I guess."
Vincent could tell that I didn't want to talk about it anymore so he changed the subject.
"So are you excited to be a senior?"
That's not exactly a subject I would want to go on about either. Senior year is going to be awfully hard without Andy or Nessa. I know he's just trying to make conversation, so there is no reason to be snappy at the man who bought me crispy nuggets of heaven.
