One minute it was fine. Laughter echoing from Andy, as I pleasantly munched on chips. Then the truck lights were in front of us followed by Vanessa shouting "Oh shit!" The car swerved. Screams were heard.
There were lights everywhere, flashing and lots of sounds that only indicated crashing. So much glass breaking, and slicing us. The lights that once blinded us were gone.
"Hey, you okay?" Vinny asked as he plopped down on the bed beside me.
I took a deep breath and nod. "I'm fine."
Vinny didn't believe that at all and still looked concerned. He turned to his side and studied my face. I turn as well and I attempt to give him a reassuring smile, trying to convince him I really was okay. Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself.
He sighed as he gently stroked my cheek and said,"You know you can tell me anything. You know I care about you and I want to make sure my girlfriend is okay." It seemed like he was telling me the sky was blue, it was just a fact.
"Girlfriend?"
Vinny looks a little caught off guard and nervous. "Oh forget I said that. I just assumed that's what you wanted because the other day your mom said it and I guess I just thought that-"
"No no I do! Ahem I mean I do want that. It's just we've only been on one date and you never really officially asked."
"Oh okay, good."
He turns the TV on and we begin to cuddle. The TV just ends up becoming background noise to my thoughts. He said it was good but he didn't ask me out. What does that even mean? I mean he just said he wanted to be my boyfriend so why not ask me out now. Maybe I made it seem like it was too soon. Is it?

One Week later
"I don't know what's up with him lately. He got real distant and has gotten really busy all of a sudden. Before he used to be over all the time and now I'm lucky to see him at all. Did I do something wrong?"
I lift my head from fluffy white bean bag and turn to give Andy a look.
"You did nothing wrong. He's the one who brought up the date that never happened." I look at her as I say this but she's too busy hitting the balloon with the tennis racket.
"Yeah I know but still it all happened so quickly. One minute he's getting all defensive like it was my fault and I got offended and said some things. It just all went downhill." She hits the racket diagonally so the baby blue balloon floats towards me.
"Don't worry, all couples fight. I'm sure soon things will go back to normal." I softly hit the balloon with my own racket so it floats back to Andy. We're trying to get her reaction time back to normal so I don't want to hit it too hard.
"Vinny has been acting weird too. Huh maybe they are in cahoots." I joke gasping dramatically. Andy spots the ball and after 3 seconds she starts to move her wrist in attempt to hit it. It's improvement.
"Doubtful. I just hope they get along. I heard about the little stunt your dad pulled on him. I can't believe he was serious when he said he would pull something like that. Remember when he told us that he'd do some God father shit on any guy who gets too close to you." She snorts and laughs faintly while holding her sides. I hope she's not in any pain when she laughs.
"Oh yeah that was right after he walked in on me talking about kissing Louis in the 6th grade." I laugh with her remembering how red my dad's face got.
"I don't know what you saw in that kid." Andy shakes her head with a smile and we continue our game.
"Well he wasn't that bad."
