~CHAPTER 14~
"Hey." McKenna said entering my room. I was listening to music so when I saw her I pulled my ear buds out and got up.
"McKenna! Did you bring your dress?" I asked.
"Yep!" She said and pulled out a white bag.
"No way! Can I see?" I asked as I was just about to pull on the large bag.
"No! I'm gonna change right now! Then you can see!" McKenna said walking out of my room to the bathroom across from my bedroom. When she walked out of my bedroom, I locked the door and put my dress on. I then looked in the mirror. Just as I went to grab my high heel boots I heard a knock on the door. I walked to the door and opened up and saw McKenna wearing her dress.
"So do you like?" McKenna said walking into my room wearing a greenish blue dress with a wide brown bet around the waist with one dark brown flower and another light brown flower next to it. The dress was long and ruffled and was so McKenna. McKenna was also wearing Blue and brown sandals with gold on them that matched the dress and she was also wearing gold, blue, green, and silver jewelery.
"I love it!" I said sitting on my bed as I put on my high heel boots. They were short and they only went a little bit above my ankle. (Earlier in the book I already described them but I'm giving a recap since I'm sure you wouldn't remember.) They were brown and had buckles and straps wrapped around them. I also was wearing a necklace with a star on it that my dad gave me when I was little.
"Thanks same with you." MacKenna said sitting next to me. "So you wanna straighten your hair or curl it?" McKenna asked me.
"I really want to curl it." I said looking at her.
"I was thinking the same thing." McKenna said pulling out her curling iron. She plugged it in and waited about five minutes and then began to curl my hair. McKenna was good at styling hair and never burnt me with an iron. (unlike my mum.) "There." She said puffing up my hair for volume, and then she got up and began to curl her own hair.
I looked at the clock and there was only fifteen more minutes till Harry would come pick me up. The room was quiet so I thought I should begin a conversation. "So who you going to the dance with?" I asked a little curious since McKenna never told me.
McKenna blushed and smiled. "Um... Jairette" McKenna mumbled bashfully. She always had a little crush on Jairette so she must of been thrilled when he asked her out to the dance.
"Jairette!" I said astonished and glad for her.
"Yeah but I'm meeting him there though." McKenna said as she finished curling her long blonde hair. She didn't curl the long bangs that framed her face but she French braided them to the side of her head, and then when her bangs met at the back of her head she tied them with a tiny rubber band. Finally McKenna dug into the large bag that held her dress and pulled out one large light pink flower hair clip that matched my dress and one large dark flower hair clip that matched her belt. She put the dark brown flower in her hair and handed the other pink one to me. "Keep it, it's part of your fairwell gift." McKenna said smiling.
"Thanks!" I said and clipped it in my hair. I looked in the mirror and realized that was what I was missing. "Hmmm..." I said realizing something else was missing.
"What's wrong? you don't like it?" McKenna said walking beside me to look at herself in my mirror.
"No I love it! It's just something is missing..." I said looking at everypart of my outfit. "Something that would tie it all together."q
"Oh!!! Your purse you bought to match with your dress!" McKenna said pointing to it.
"No that's not it." I said grabbing the purse from my vanity.
"hmmmm... then what?" Just as McKenna said that the doorbell rang. My blood began to rush through my body, and my heart began to beat.
"That!" I said smiling and ran upstairs to greet Harry.
