Chapter 14

Percy POV

I sat down on my bed tiredly. I covered my face with my hands. I gave a huge sigh, finally some time to think. It seems like I have been going nonstop since this war started. I turned into a wolf planning on taking a quick run. I stepped out of my tent, and I heard my name called, "Alpha, can I talk to you?" I turned and saw Nico sitting in one of the shadows, well I guess smelled him because when he is in the shadows he blends in. I gave a quick nod, and turned back into a human, "Well of course Nico. What can I do for the son of Hades?" His usual frown turned into a scowl. "Quite it Percy. You know I hate when u become formal." I smiled, and before he could react my wings shot out and I lunged forward suddenly grabbing him, and flying to Zeus' fist before he can even let out a scream. When I landed my wings withdrew suddenly into my back. The look on his face was priceless. I couldn't tell whether he was going to scream, or faint, or maybe both. I couldn't help but burst out in a fit of laughter. After five minutes I was trying to get it back under control, but I still couldn't help. I had tears in my eye. When I finally got my laughter under control I looked at his face, and couldn't help but burst out in another round of laughter. When I eventually got it completely under control his face was beyond angry. I couldn't help but try to hold back even more laughter. "Percy I swear if you don't tell me what just happened I will end you." I let loose another chuckle then said, "Your face is priceless. It's like you don't know whether or not to scream or faint, but it looks like both to me. This is priceless. Anyway," I said whipping I tear from my eyes, "What was it you wanted to talk about?" He looked down, almost scared of me. I smiled, I would be too honestly. I smiled, then turned and sat on the rocks near the bottom. "Well I wanted to ask that you forgive me about what happened." This whole time he hadn't looked up at me. I smiled, I could literally smell his nervousness. I smiled, then said, "Listen Nico, I forgave you a long time ago. The funny thing about wolves is that we don't hold grudges. We forgive our family, but we also know when we need to be angry. I forgive you." He looked up at me. Then I saw just a hint of a smile grace his lips. Then his usual frown returned. "So what have you been up to?" I smiled, and absent mindedly summoned some fire water. His emotions changed from fierce to scared, real quick. I smiled, and made the fire-water twirl around my hand. Then I made it make more shapes. He slowly started to relax again, and patiently waited for me to answer his question. "You have learned patience Nico." I smiled then said, "Oh I've kind of been doing a little of everything. You know hunting monster, protecting the hunt. A little bit of everything. Oh and also being blessed by Zeus." He looked like he was going to pass out again. His mouth might as well as have been brushing the ground. "Close your mouth Nico you will catch flies. Listen we need to really catch up sometime." I said while standing up. "However, now is not the time. I need to go for a run real quick to relax, and then I need to question Hyperion. If you would like to join me for the questioning let me know and we will 'ask' him what he knows together." A very evil smile came on his lips and it scared me beyond belief. I knew right then that if I ever had to be tortured I would not want Nico to do it. Being the son of Hades probably gave him some good ideas on torture. I gave a quick smile, and changed into my wolf form, and took off into the forest surrounding us. I gave a wolfish smile and ran as far and fast as I could. By the time I was finished I found myself in front of bunker 9. I smiled. I had always wanted to see what the inside looked like. I lit my hand on fire, and pressed it against the stone. The fire flowed around the stone, and shaped a door. It opened up, and inside was Leo. I smiled, and let the flame blow out. I stepped inside, and gave a quick whistle. I looked around excitedly, because inside where all sorts of inventions that would advance mankind into the future. Leo just finished the latest one that he was working on, and looked up when he heard me whistle. "Hey no one was supposed to know how to get in here. No one is supposed to be able to because you need fire to open it. How did you do it?" I smiled, and suddenly my whole body was engulfed in greek fire. It wasn't because I was angry, but just because I wanted to give him a little scare. He jumped back, and instantly tried to reach for a fire extinguisher. I smiled, and before he could even consider spraying me with it, I sent a small jolt of electricity at it, and made it explode all over him. I couldn't help myself, and suddenly burst out laughing as he was covered head to toe in flame retardant foam. He tried to charge at me, but he slipped and fell on his butt as the foam made it hard to get a good grip on the concrete floor. I laughed even more, and summoned a little water, and cleaned him off as best I could. Then I walked over to him, and helped him up. I patted him on the back, and said, "Leo you know exactly how I can use fire, however, the lightning is new I thought I'd play with you a little bit." I said with a wink. Then that devilish smile came on his elfish face, and then he said, "Hey Perce, I want you to meet someone ok?" I suddenly smelt another presence in the bunker. I growled, and then Leo stood up in front of me with his replica of my sword in hand, and said, "What is it?" "A presence that has been able to hide her presence since I've stepped into here." Suddenly he started to relax, and even laughed. "That's who I wanted you to meet. Come on out dear." With that a figure walked out of the back of the bunker, and stepped into the light. The ferocious snarl on my lips, suddenly changed into a huge smile. "Percy I would like you to meet. . ." I held up a hand and smiled. "Well I see that he was able to keep his promise when I wasn't. Welcome to Long Island sound Calypso." I took a step forward and gave her a quick hug. I could smell her excitement, and I knew right then that she was happy to finally be free. I could also smell Leo about to combust into flames, meaning that he was beyond excited too. I turned to him, and said, "So this is what you do in here. Hang out with your girlfriend, and build things?" He nodded, and said real quick "Yeah I design them, and she helps with the more delicate spots. I may be good with machines but that doesn't mean I can get all the little pieces together I don't have the patience for it." I nodded and smiled. That wouldn't be a bad life to live. I pulled out Riptide real quick, and said, "So did you want to spar sometime soon?" I said while absentmindedly changing Riptide into a dagger, then a spear, then an axe and so on. "Of course I do, however I know that you will beat me, and also the fact that I could quiet possibly be killed. I smiled, and said, "No you won't be killed, actually you stand a fair chance, because we are both immune to flames, and your fire cancels my water, and I promise I won't use the lighting. He nodded, and smiled walking toward the entrance to the bunker. "Well what are we waiting for? Let's go see what I can do." I nodded, and turned into a wolf, and said, "Climb on and we will get there faster." When he was situated I took off toward the arena.
