Ballet Academy AU

At six am I dragged my sorry ass down to the academy.

I met Chole and Kate near the door way.

"Max!"

"Hey guys! What's up?" I asked.

"There is going to an Romeo and Juliet ballet! There was a list of selected students for Juliet. You're on the list!" Chole squeals and Kate nodding in excitement.

"What? Really? That's so cool. Oh! What about you guys" I asked.

"I am going to sign up for nurse." Said Kate.

"I'll be Lady Capulet and one of the back up dancer." Chole says.

"That's cool." I said.

We walked into the academy and headed to class for warm up.

After warm up. Joyce the instructor gave us a briefing on the ballet. Before releasing the minor characters and backup dancers to another class.

Look around me, Victoria, Brooke and a bunch of other girls were auditioning for Juliet. Auditioning for Romeo was Nathan and Warren and some others. If I was chosen I hope my partner would be Warren. He is a nice guy and I may or may not have a crush on him. Also he is a strong dancer.

"Max you're up!" Joyce shouted at me. The sound of pointe shoes against echo the room as I walk to take my place on the center of the dance floor.

"Thank you," Joyce said to the pianist and she started to play the piece for the ballet.

I started to dance. I aways liked ballet. Liked it since is was young. When I took up ballet. I realized there is more than meet the eye. Many a time after class I would go home with sore arms and legs. Most people may over look it. But truth to be told, it hurts. A lot.

I finished my dance with a flourish and some of the students clap for me. I was the last dancer so now it was time for the boys to audition for Romeo.

Nathen is good but he is such a jerk, aways rude and loud, I also know that Nathan and Victoria is in a relationship. Victoria can be nice. I don't know what she sees in him.

Warren was very good, his leaps were high, feet pointed to perfection. I think through his dance he keep stealing glance at me.

After auditioning we had a break in the lounge. I sat with Chole and Kate. Chole trying to steal a bite out of my sandwich.

"Chole if you want a sandwich you know I have an extra in my bag."

Chole give me a look. I sigh and take out another sandwich from my bag.

"Max! Your a life saver."she exclaimed

"You shouldn't dance on an empty stomach." Kate said.

"I was in a rush!" Defended Chole.

We broke into laugher.

"Hey Max how was the audition?" Kate asked.

"It was fine." I answered.

That when Joyce walked into the room.

"Okay people. The results are out. Congratulations to Max and Warren you guys got the role of Romeo and Juliet. The rest of you, check out your roles and report to your rooms after this." Joyce pins the the roles in the board as the other students flock over to see what roles they have gotten.

Kate let out a squeals and patted my arm. Chole had a eat-shit-grin on ber face.

After half an hour of joking around in the lounge with Chole and Kate. I had to leave for the first partner work lesson with Warren.

"Do you know he like you?" Kate asked just as I was getting up from a chair

"What?" I spun toward Kate faster then I did I pirouettè

"You know he has asked about you before?" Chole asked.

"What when?!" I gasped, Warren the best male dancer asking about me?! Why would he?

"I think he likes you." Kate said with a angelic smile.

Chole and Kate does know about my crush about Warren.

Chole phone rings and she jumped out of the seat. "I gotta go, Rachel out of class."

"Mkay bye" I said.

"Sin, " Kate muttered to herself.

I looked at Kate.

"Go on Max, my class hasn't started yet. Have fun with Warren." Kate gives me a grin.

I grabbed my duffel bag and made my way to class.

"Good afternoon Max." Joyce says as I walk into the dance studio.

"Good afternoon Joyce." I mumbled. Looking at Warren who was already there.

"Okay so the two of you are the main roles of Romero and Juliet and I'll be teaching the two of you the partner and the solo work. Aright lets get started. The first scene we are starting with will be the ball scene. I need to see if the two of you can work together."

Over the next hour Joyce teaches us most of the partner work for that scene. Warren had to lift me several time at one point of the dance. His arms felt so firm it felt as if I was still on the ground.

"Good, good, the two of you make a good pair. Now, we are done for today remember to practice when ever you can. We will continue tomorrow." Joyce says.

"You wanna stay and practice?" Warren asks me.

I looked at him with a blank stare on my face which was starting to feel like a heating oven.

"Umm ya, okay." I answered.

We danced till the evening. About seven, Samuel started locking up the academy. He allow us to finish out routine for one last time before locking up our room.

"Ahh, young love, aways so loving." He says look at us.

I didn't know if he was referring to the Romero and Juliet or me and Warren.

We walked silently together to the entrance.

"Hey Max," Warren says "Do you? I don't know? Want to get dinner together or something?'' He asked.

I had never said yes so fast in my life.

"Um, we can get to know each other better and um talk about the ballet?" I muttered to myself.

Warren laughed "Cool, let's go Two Whales."
