They just stared at me like I unstable. Like I was a liar. I simply stared back.
" You've got to be kidding me."
My head whipped towards him, I accidentally swerved on the dark road. The light quivered and I refocused on the road.
"Excuse me?"
"You're a goody-two-shoes. You don't do bad stuff like that."
I glanced at him again, my eyes narrowed and dangerous. "I'm wrath remember? I must be wrathful. trust me, I've had my share of wrath. So stop talking like you know me." I spat our the words, watching him become angrier and angrier every time I threw their words back at him.
"Maybe I do know you. Maybe you and I went through some serious crap together. Maybe your just to arrogant to remember!"
The truck swerved dangerously. I was building several dams to hold the powerful flow of rage. "Maybe I'm glad I don't remember someone as pitiful as you!" I screeched, slamming on the breaks and turning to glare at him. He returned a void, cold gaze.
"Puh-leeze." He spat. Before she could return a remark, he turned to the window and silenced completely, as if oblivious to her presence altogether. Breathing heavily, she spied Timothy and Karen's nervous countances as they looked back and forth between them. With a final shaky breath, she continued driving through the backroad and entered the grassy country field.
.............................................
"Azara?" Timothy's whispered voice echoed from behind me.
"Eh?" I mumbled, struggling to stay awake. "Let me drive. Your practically sleeping with your eyes open up there." To tired to object, I pulled over and stepped out. Jared and Karen had fallen asleep long ago. They were not stirred by the gentle halting or the slamming of doors as we switched.
Fifteen minutes after we switched, I murmured, "Timothy?" I saw his eyes dart to me in the rear view. "Huh?"
"Thank you." I sighed as I was pulled into unconsciousness. I heard his gentle, "Your welcome," before the shores of sleep carried me far, far away.
