It was finally the day. I subconsciously drew circles around my fake face plastered in the front of the album. The fake scars looked absolutely artistic on the cover.
"Drink some water." Boss said again.
"Okay." I said.
"Getting nervous, huh?" Shin slapped my back. "Fighting! You can definitely conquer the stage, even if it's a little small for a debut...."
"Just shut up." Ji Yun stuffed a candy into his mouth.
"Just remember not to mess up the last part, okay?" Jimmy reminded. "Don't strain your voice and sing from your stomach. Control your breathing especially at the chorus."
"Sure." I gulped.
"Elido, you're up soon." One of the crew announced. My shaky fingers lifted the bottle to my lips one last time. It was finally time.
A small crowd was gathered at a distance while the passer-bys walked on, completely not interested in whatever the group before me was performing.
"Don't mind the crowd. You're here to present your song so just focus on your singing. This is for your family." Boss squeezed my hand, as if he was passing courage onto me just by doing that. I gave a stiff nod.
"Thank you very much!" The five girls on stage cheerfully bowed despite the response and they came my way.
"Thank you for the hard work!" They began saying to everyone.
"Good luck!" One of them shyly said, her eyes darting down as soon as I looked at her.
"Good job." I replied, clearing my throat . It was finally time.
The familiar music finally blasted through the speaker and I walked out, trying to get myself into the mood of the song. By the time I walked to the standing mike, the intro music was almost over, and I began:
Don't you dare say another word
About anything else
Oooo
I'm sure you knew it, of course you did.
This ain't working out so let's take a break or two,
I gave my most deadliest glare and whispered into the mike, "You said." before exploding my vocal.
You said you needed time
you said you needed space
I guess what you really need was for me to scram!
Don't you worry, dear
I'll take care of it, I said
I'll take care of my love!
My broken heart, I'll fix it.
I'll put a plaster and smother out the flames right now
My memories, la la la
If I'm of the past to you, then so shall you be to me.
I'm sure you knew it, of course you did.
You said forever
