Perhaps it wasn't a good timing to make a surprise visit. There were female students trailing behind me, making a big ruckus. Some of the braver ones came closer, stuffing gifts into my hands. Just as thoughts of aborting this surprise visit surfaced in my mind, I finally spotted Woo Jin. 

He's with a girl.

With his right hand interlaced with hers and a bright smile on his lips.

What was this? My toes curled in protest inside my shoes but I could not tear my eyes away.

Woo Jin's eyes shot our way due to the ruckus and our eyes made contact. He turned back to the girl beside him and they begun walking over.

I sucked in a deep breath. This was not the time and place for a breakdown. I can't break down now.

"Od.... Elido! How... I didn't know you were coming!" He said. "What's with the crowd?"

"Erm... I... I wanted to surprise you. Didn't know I was so popular though." I glanced at that girl. She was really beautiful, extremely...beautiful.

"Oh, this is Yong Mi. I kind of wanted to share the big news with you yesterday but you were busy."

And for the first time, I noticed that sparkle in his eyes.

It was as if an invisible fist punched me right in the stomach. It was all one-sided. The molecules in the air seemed to clump around my throat and I couldn't respond.

"This is my childhood friend, Young Mi -"

"So- So this is your girlfriend?"

Woo Jin nodded, biting his lips in embarrassment.

"We've got to go." Jimin reminded me again, as he blocked another two brave girls.

"It was nice to meet you, Young Mi. You two look really, really cute together." I said.

Another smile, and wave, and I mechanically walked away. "Keep your head held high, Odile. This isn't his fault, it's all you. You and your foolish heart. Keep your head held high."

The journey back to the car was tougher, as the fan girls surrounded us, but we finally managed to get into the car when the security guards took control of the situation.

The elation over winning the award was completely washed away. 

"That took quite a long time. We might not have time to go back to Lexunos to change your clothes. We're going straight to the venue." Jimin fretted. "Who knew you got so popular, Elido. This was a bad idea. The next time, you should go incognito."

"Hello?" Shin's voice sounded from the phone's loudspeaker.

"Shin, you'll have to go over to the SBS and meet us there. We'll reach in about an hour."

I closed my eyes, hoping to sleep away this feeling.
