"Ready,-"
I yawn, swatting away that annoying mosquito.
"-Action!"
The groups of 'fighters' immediately began sparring again. I look towards the leader in charge of us extras and the moment he tuned to run we followed him, screaming as if we were scared. The stench of corn syrup exploded in the air and I look back. The red clothed 'fighters'were onto us. One of them chased my way and stab the blunt sword into my back, breaking pack of fake blood. I drop to the ground with a yelp, pretending to be dead.
"... and cut! Dead people, please stay where you are. We're going to film scene 34."
The make-up artists ran over with their tools, bent down and dabbed even more of that sticky fake blood onto us to make it more realistic. While we extras were down on the hot and muddy ground, the male lead adjusted his costume and walked to his position.
"All stations ready? Action."
I close my eyes, pretending to be dead again.

"Good job out there." Sol Mi said, receiving my costume and dumping them with the other dirty ones. "Yes? Anything else?"
I stare back at her, in anticipation. "Sol Mi, didn't you say the pay..."
"Ah, the pay. Ah Ra!" Sol Mi shouted and a brown haired lady tending to a pile of papers a few steps away from the Director look up. Wasn't that the lady who told me what to do when I came here? "That's Ah Ra, the assistant director. Go to her for your pay."
"Thanks, Sol Mi." I shot her a grateful smile and walk over to Ah Ra.
"Hi, are you Ah Ra?" I ask, tapping her on the shoulder.
"Yes?"She glance at me before returning her gaze to the calculator.
"I'd like to ask for my pay-"
"Ah Ra, have you got the approval for the-" Before I even said the word 'pay', as if I was invisible, the Director came towards Ah Ra and they began discussing about the approval form for the usage of the next location. Biting my teeth nervously, I glance at my watch. It was about time I head to the supermarket.
"Excuse me-Sorry-"
"Can't you see we're discussing something?" The Director flared up.
"I'm really sorry, Director, but I'd just like to get my pay for the day." I bow to him and look at Ah Ra expectantly. "I was told to find Ah Ra for the pay."
"Oh, you are..."
"I was part of the dead people in scene 33 and 34." I pass her the voucher.
She assessed the voucher and nodded. "Thank you for your hard work." She said, giving me a white envelope.
"Thank you very much." I bent my back and bow to them.
A shrill scream blasted into my ear when I straighten my back and a huge shadow caste over us. In that split second, I felt a shudder of fear creeping through my veins as I look up. The steel prop structure was collapsing, straight our way.
In that split moment, the only thought flashing through my mind was: I cannot die just yet. Perhaps it was due to the adrenaline pumping in my blood. My arm quickly connected with the structure and the impact shuddered through my bone.
Shouts.
Since when was my eyes close? I try very hard to open my eyes and my disorientated mind took in the scenery. Some people stood at the distance, still shocked by what happen and some ran forward to help. With care, the crew lifted the broken structure. As the saying goes, too many cooks spoil the broth. The more people rushed forward to help, the more mayhem it caused. There were those who were really trying their hardest to lift the damn thing, and there were those who were eager to earn merit in front of the higher ups.
"Director! Director, are you okay?"
A couple of them were pulling the Director from beneath my heavy body even before the structure was lifted. With movements under me and on top of me, the friction caused even more pain.
The ambulance arrive shortly, and I was brought to the nearby hospital against my will. I don't have time for this! I need to work! But no matter what I say to the doctor, they just refuse to let me go!
"What do you mean I have to stay the night here?! Listen, I am perfectly fine. It's just a small cut-" I attempt to talk my way out of this ridiculous matter. It's not like I'm grabbing a knife or like I'm threatening them at gunpoint to be responsible for my injuries, Hell, I'm not even heavily injured! Just a bad ass cut.... and some fractures... but it's not like I'm half dead!
"Miss, it's not just a small cut. You've a dislocated elbow, fractures and head injury. you've got to stay put!" The nurse tried to get me back into the bed.
"Snowmotion Entertainment will be responsible for your injuries caused by the accidents.. The Doctor just needs you to stay for the night to ensure that nothing goes wrong internally." The Director swiftly walk in. "With your current injuries now, you probably can't even stand for long or carry any heavy objects."
"Who says I can't?!It's just a goddamn injury! You have no right to..." what was that called? Infringement of privacy? Doesn't seem like it...The frustration stoked the flames of anger even more.
"No right to what?"
"No... aish, what was that called? Anyway, no matter what you have no right to keep me here. I am not staying in the hospital. I've got work to do!" The clock read 4:50 PM. It was way past the time I should report for work!
"Should you resist, Snowmotion Entertainment will sue you."
My hands froze at the door handle. Sue me?
"Can you afford to pay two thousand?" His voice sound even closer. "Stay in this hospital for the night and let the doctor do the job. Then I'll drop the case."
My jaws drop. Two thousand... We don't have that much money right now! Two thousand... Wait why the hell am I being sued?
The Director swat my hand away from the handle and push open the door with a smirk. The door close straight in my face and the nurse, seeing that I had become quiet, quickly drag me back to bed and stuck the IV drip into me. So what's the deal now? I'm to either pay two thousand or lose my pay for the day? Both scenarios make me feel like puking out blood.
Why on earth am I being sued?
