"Cut! We'll take this shot." The Director say.

That was the end for me today.

"You've worked hard." I bow to the crew, taking my leave.

"I need a moment." I walk away from the set, plopping down on the bench.

"Again?" Sol Mi widen her eyes.

I shut my eyes, afraid my eyes might just bulge out of my eye sockets. The anger I feel continually building up in the pit of my stomach.

Yi Woo... The moment Director told me of her past, I couldn't stop the development of the darkness in this character. It's uncontrollable when I sink my feet into her shoes.

The amount of hate she feels for her husband and her disdain for the peasants who remain her too much of her past. It's game over for an actor or actress to be stuck in a character unable to extract yourself out.

The bitter feeling I feel fades, and I re-adjust my mood. I never felt happy after acting out Yi Woo... It's strange. I thought I'd enjoy such a strong character, but the character is like an 100% cocoa dark chocolate bar and I seem to be chewing it rather than savoring it. Bitter. Extremely bitter.

"Better?" Sol Mi hand me a bottle of water.

"Thanks, Sol Mi." I grab the bottle and gulp down the water.

"How did you do that?" Jung Mi sit down beside me in her chair.

"Do what?"

"You looked as though you were ready to kill silently and smother her into ashes. Pilsuk's in the washroom crying right now." Jung Mi smile.

I feel as though I killed a peacock.

"Is she alright?"

"Nope, she's definitely not alright. But the assistant director is there right now." Jung mi flip open her script. "But it feels so good to see her cry in the washroom. You should be meaner to her. Who knew that she didn't have as much guts as she claimed."

Sol Mi grip my shoulders, shaking her head slightly as I made a move to get up.

"Hay, it's almost 7pm. You wanted to call home didn't you?"

"Right." I grin in apology to Jung Mi and grab Sol Mi's phone.

' Don't involve yourself in their business. It's unnecessary.' Sol Mi's text flash on the phone in a small font. I swipe it clean quickly, leaning back on the chair. Sol Mi gathered the clothes bundles in a mess beside me and walk away.

"Hailey" Mum's voice came through.

"Mum!" Hearing her voice made all the tiredness ebb away.

"Mmm... Yes?"

"Are you all eating right now?"

"I've just started cooking. We may be eating a little late today. Hailey, how do you cook the cabbage?"

"Cabbage? Oh, you just need to cut it like how I taught you. Did you defrost the marinated meat in the orange container?"

"Orange container? I thought it was in the red container."

"The red container is the pork, it's not marinated meat... You can marinate it right now though. It'll do. Put in some soya sauce, pepper and salt in to marinate."

"How long do I marinate it for?"

"About 30 minutes."

"Okay. How much do I put?"

"Get Jack to help you for that. He does it the best. Prepare the garlic and cabbage first, Mum. Later you just need to put oil into the frying pan, then fry the garlic first, followed by the meat. Put the cabbage in after the meat is cooked."

"Okay. Wait how do I know when the cabbage is cooked?"

"When you can break it with the spatula. Make sure you put some oyster sauce, pepper and salt in at the end and taste it."

"Okay, I understand."

"Mum, make hot the food in the green container in the fridge. That goes well with this dish. Make sure Will eats the cabbage okay?"

"Mmm I understand."

"Did you bring in the clothes?"

"Ah right! Clothes! I forgot to hang them out!"

"What?" my eyes widen.

"My clothes!" I hear running feets.

"Mum you hung the clothes out. I brought them in already." I hear Will in the background.

"Did I? I must have forgotten. Sorry about that!" Mum laugh sheepishly.

"Big Sis." The phone must have been taken away by Jack.

"Hey punk." I smile at his voice.

"Are you coming home soon?"

"Not in another 3 days." I say, pacing around as I talk to Jack. "Is Mum still okay?"

"Alright I guess. I brought home a stray cat yesterday. Mum played with it until she forgot to cook." Jack tattle-tale to me.

"Jack could you marinate the meat for me?" I hear Mum say in the distant background.

"A stray cat? Help Mum with the marinade."

"Must I?"

"She's trying real hard already. Cut her some slack and be nice. Understand? Oh, did you get it checked by a vet?"

"Do we need to?"

"Of course you need to, Jack! What if it's infected?" My voice became stern. " Go to the vet after dinner and buy some cat food today."

"Yes Ma'am." Jack voice sounded deflated.

"Keep an eye on Mum while I'm away, okay?"

"I will. Come home soon, Big Sis."

"See you soon, Jack." I smile into the phone.

"Hanging up." and the call ended.

A smile stretch my lips uncontrollably.

"Boyfriend?" Hi Sun, Jung Mi's manager, ask.

"That was her Mum." Jung Mi reply for me.

"That was my family." I say, grabbing my script from our shared table. "Jung Mi, do you want to rehearse our lines together for this part?"

"Sure."
