Someone from the crew must have been the culprit. The photo was strategically chosen, making it seem like Sis' hand was in the midst of slapping me, followed by Kwan Du's intervention.

I may not understand what was written, but the enlarged pictures on the front page chilled me inside out. There's going to be a major storm.

That's weird, Sis never once touch my face that day!

"Kwan Du, this picture is definitely a fake."

"That's not the most important point." Kwan Du stab the sausage and brought it to his mouth.

"You should be more concerned about how the fans might react to your appearance in Japan, with a woman. We did plan to have people spot you and stir some news, but in this kind of photo? Your album may be overlooked because of this." Kwan Du say.

"Let's hold a press conference then."

"When? Right now? Or when we get back to Korea?" Kwan Du tilt his head, as though he's dissecting me. "What will you say? How can you handle it without destroying both yourself or Ms Leiker? Don't forget, you are a male idol now. To be seen with a woman in a foreign country for no apparent reason or news, could ruffle up the feathers of your fans in the wrong way. Especially when the article doesn't explicitly state whether you were assaulted or whether you were on a secret date. Should some individuals want to fan the flames to destroy you..."

I stayed silent, mulling over his words as I stare into my plate.

"I think it would be in the best interest for both of you to be in conflict.
"That's my Si-!" He stuff a bread into my mouth.

I spat the bread out and glare at him. "I will not harm her. I refuse!"

"Then what about the debt you have to pay? Don't forget, I've took a risk, betting on you. Should you fall, I will be destroyed too."

That's true...

"What we can do is act out a show in front of them. This could also be an opportunity to promote-"

"My family cannot be touched. I will not allow anything to happen to them."

"Then there's no further room for discussion." Kwan Du shrug his shoulders.

What is he thinking about right now? I look into his eyes.

"I'm not joking at all." He seem to read the doubt in me. Wiping his mouth, he signaled for the waiter to pay the bills. " The security of the hotel isn't too bad."

The sudden shift in the conversation took me by surprise but I went with the flow.

"It's not too shabby." I reply.

When did I start trusting this man? To say such a thing, he's beginning to resemble Woo Jin's Dad. Will he betray me in the end?

Unfortunately Kwan Du's prediction was right, Lexunos took action immediately back in Korea. Or to put it more specifically, it's Seo Jin who started it while Lexunos silently promoted it.

Striking while the iron was hot, Seo Jin posted a vague remark online : "How could you have tricked me all these while? I knew something was fishy. Congratulations! Full support for this new couple!"

No names were mentioned, but the fire erupted once more, though most of the fire powder was aimed at Sis. The fans of Elido and strangely, some of Odile's fan went berserk online.

"What should I do? How?"

"Don't look at me, the only solution I've got was rejected by you." Kwan Du say. "Either way the gun would definitely be pointed at her. Mind you, she has more anti-fans than fans."

Kwan Du sit down on his bed with a sigh. "Look, Odile, this is the entertainment industry. We are like the performers in the circus. If you truly wanted to protect her, you have to be the first to stab her deeply. Only then will people hesitate. Have you ever seen the crowd cheer when a heavily bleeding animal is forced to perform a trick? The crowd will more likely be horrified, and protective of the animal. Why? Because that's how shallow humans are. We will always want to be the protector. Would the crowd think that they are the sole cause of the animal's suffering? No. Think about it."

My phone starts ringing.

"Odile?"

"Sis?! I grip the phone tightly, excusing myself to the bathroom. " Sis are you alright? I'm so sorry"

" I saw what happened. Don't worry about me. How do you plan to resolve this?"

"Kwan Du... He wanted us to appear to be in conflict."

Sis was silent for a long while. I sit down on the ledge of the bathtub.

"What should we do, Sis?" How can I protect you?

"It's fine, I think I know what to do. Don't worry, I get the drift. I'll have to discuss it out with Sol Mi though."

"Huh?"

"If they want a drama, we'll just act out a drama. I have a plan. Just act accordingly."

By evening, we saw what Sis meant. Sis was caught by the crowd of reporters on her film site. Kwan Du sat down beside me to watch it on our hotel television.

" Elido and I have always been competitors since high school. Right now our relationship could be that of old rivals, I suppose. There's no way we could be romantically involved. Well, considering that he's more mature now than in the past, we could at least stop bickering I guess."

The lights flashing around Sis seem to really irritate her.

"Then how can you explain this photograph?"

"There was a mosquito on his face. I was just killing it. Quite a nice timing though, don't you think? His manager thought I was slapping him until he saw the dead mosquito on my hand. Come to think of it, I took picture of that mosquito. Why didn't the person who put this news up check the facts first?"

Sis tapped into her phone and showed the camera the picture of a huge mosquito, squashed dead.

" Quite huge. I'm surprised by the size of this mosquito too."

"Hailey, if there wasn't anything going on in between Elido and you, why would Seo Jin post such a comment online?"

"I don't know. What did he post?"

"He posted : How could you have tricked me all these while? I knew something was fishy. Congratulations! Full support for this new couple!" The reporter rambled from his phone quickly. "Please explain this!"

"You should ask the person who sent such a post why he did it, shouldn't you? I'm not a mind reader. I'm more curious, how is it that a news article from Japan can receive the attention of an idol singer in Korea so fast! More importantly, I have never seen such irresponsible professional who would speak without getting his facts right."

Kwan Du whistle at that comment. "You really need to learn from your Sis. She's got guts!"

That comment got the tables turned on Seo Jin extremely fast.

"It won't affect Seo Jin too much though." I say. He's got those stolen lyrics to fall back on.

"Don't you already have a plan to deal with him?" Kwan Du ask.

I freeze up. How did he know about that?

"You'd be the world's most stupidest fool if you hold such a valuable piece of chip and still not have any plans to use it against him." Kwan Du say. "Just in case you didn't think of it, since I'm your beloved manager, I'll give you a hint. Strike him at the highest point, that's the best revenge."

Can he even read minds?
