Who am I: Odile

"Are you done yet?" Kwan Du's voice made me lock the toilet door quickly as I pull at the skirt, hoping it could at least cover my knee. That was scary. When did he invite himself into my house?

"Almost." I shout back, looking at the 'me' in the mirror. Wig on, check. Perfume, check. Skirt, Check. I should put in some make up...

Should I shave my armpits? I look at the bushy patch reflection in the mirror with a frown.

Being a guy is so easy that I don't know why dramas always depict it to be hard. But transforming my look back into a girl... Do I still have enough femininity in me to do the job?

"Hurry up!" Kwan Du knock on the toilet door.

"Coming!" I abandon the thought of shaving and put on my shirt.

"We've got only two hours left till-" Kwan Du's mouth fell open when he look up.

Is it too weird? Am I still too Elido-ish? Worries speed through my head.

" How is it?" My voice hiccup due to my nerves.

Kwan Du cough lightly, tossing a black jacket to me. "Let's go. Did you miss out anything? Passport?"

He fiddled with my luggage, and carry it to the front door.

"I've packed it all. Is this your jacket or mine?" I frown. The smell of the jacket is very different.

The door clicked close in response. I hurriedly grab my bag pack and switch off the lights, making sure that I lock the front door.

"Should I wear a mask or something?"  I ask Kwan Du. "I keep getting the feeling that someone will recognise me."

"There's no need for that." Kwan Du say. " You look fine just like that."

"How about we experiment first?" I grab Kwan Du's arm in fear. "Let's confirm that I'm not recognisable before we go to the airport."

And so here I am.

"I'll buy us some food. If anyone recognises me, it's a fail. Okay?" I unbuckle my seat belt.

"I want baked potatoes. Mmm... Two will be enough for me." Kwan Du say. "Be careful."

"I will." I smile.

Mission 1: buy potatoes. Okay, I can do this. I can-not do this. Just opening the car door makes my heart race, as though I'm doing something that shouldn't be done.

"Can you come with me?" I grip the door handle tightly.

Kwan Du's eyebrow rose in disbelief.

"I'm serious. I need you."

Without another word, he unbuckle his seat belt and step out of the car.

I can do this. I exhale, opening the car door again.

"Let's make it quick. We don't have much time left." Kwan Du say.

"Let's" I nod my head and let myself be drag by Kwan Du into the cafeteria full of people.

No one was staring at us. None. After gathering courage to buy the potatoes, I try it again to buy some drinks, and sticky rice cake, and donuts, and-

"Ya, are you crazy? You're going to eat all this?!" Kwan Du exploded, his hands full of plastic bags.

"Eyy, I say, what's wrong with this gentleman! Why, what's wrong with a lady having a good appetite? It's hard to find such a youngster these days, what with all that diet nonsense! Eat more, don't care about what he say." The auntie scoop a few more scoops of ice cream into the plastic bowl just to spite Kwan Du.

"Th... thank you." I accept the bowl of ice cream awkwardly.

"Such a boyfriend won't do you any good. You might as well dump him." the auntie of the adjacent stall jabbed, making Kwan Du's face even redder.

"Let's go." I can't raise my eyes to even look at him now. Tugging at his shirt, I drag him into the car.

The mission is a complete success. No one recognise me at all.

"I'll deal with you in Japan. We'll see. If your weight increases, you're so dead." Kwan Du grit his teeth.

"But it's a waste not to eat." I whimper.

"Half of all these are mine now. Not a donut less." Feeling slightly satisfied, he drive the car out of the rest area as I silently scoop another scoop of ice cream into my mouth.

By the time we reach the airport, our bellies are stuffed and the plastic bag is packed with rubbish. The evening sunset invokes a rather drowsy sensation as well.

"Wipe your mouth. You're not Elido right now, but as a girl, please take care of your image." Kwan Du say exasperatedly.

"Thanks." I grin at him, licking the sauce off my lips before wiping my mouth.
