"Kits, wake up," purred Snaketail.

"Give me till sunhigh," mewed Flamekit.

"Can I go out to the fresh-kill pile?" Skykit asked.

"Me, too!" Lightningkit shouted.

"Fine, but leave Featherstorm alone. Last time Flamekit stole honey," Snaketail said.

"Ok," mewed Lightningkit.

Skykit and Lightningkit raced to the fresh-kill pile. Skykit picked up a vole. Lightningkit picked up a thrush. Lightningkit walked over to Willowpaw and Brownpaw. Lightningkit dropped her thrush next to Willowpaw. "Hey, you want to share?" she asked.

"Sure, then I'll teach you a battle move," Willowpaw mewed. She took the first bite then passed it back to Lightningkit. They continued doing this until they couldn't eat anymore.

"Brownpaw, want the rest?" Lightningkit offered.

Brownpaw nodded.

"Willowpaw, you told me you would show me a move," mewed Lightningkit hopefully.

"Fine, I will show you the Lightning strike," Willowpaw purred. Lightningkit was paying very close attention when Willowpaw crouched down. "First you crouch down and wait for the tail signal. Then you attack. The leader of the patrol will then call retreat. The enemies will pause to lick their wounds. Our patrol will run until we get out of sight. Then we attack again!" Willowpaw said as she did the move on a piece of moss.

"Wow!" Lightningkit squealed.

"Hey, I have to go hunt. Bye," Willowpaw said.

"Bye!" Lightningkit shouted as Willowpaw left.

Lionstripe just got back from patrol with Twoflower, Ambernight, and Oakbranch. "Lionstripe, Willowpaw taught me the Lightning strike," Lightningkit mewed proudly.

"Really? That's great!" Lionstripe praised his daughter.

"Hey, did I miss anything?" asked Featherstorm as he grabbed a robin from the fresh-kill pile.

"I learned the Lightning strike!" shouted Lightningkit.

"Really, that's good," said Featherstorm only paying half attention.

"FALCON!" shouted Lizardleaf who was standing guard at the camp entrance.

"Kits! In the nursery!" Lionstripe shouted. Skykit ran instantly into the nursery.

"Not without you!" Lightningkit shouted at her father. The falcon swooped down clawing at Lionstripe. Lightningkit was scared. Not for herself, but for her father.

Before she knew what she was doing she leaped on the falcons back. She clawed at it with her tiny claws unsheathed. The falcon screeched. Featherstorm didn't move. He just watched her cautiously.

"My kit!" Snaketail cried. The falcon flapped it's wings. The falcon was now hovering off the ground. Lightningkit didn't fear her death. She knew she would fall.

"Goodbye, Snaketail. Goodbye, Lionstripe. Goodbye, Flamekit. Goodbye, Skykit. Goodbye, Willowpaw. I love you all! I won't ever forget you!" Lightningkit shouted to her clan. She knew it would be the last time she saw them.

"No! Don't leave we need you!" Lionstripe, Snaketail, Willowpaw, Flamekit, and Skykit shouted.

The falcon was higher now. Lightningkit looked up at the sky. It was sunhigh. She would never forget the sky that day, because unlike the others she saw a Starclan cat in the sky.

"I am Ravenpaw. It's not your time young hero. Bite the neck."

Lightningkit nodded. She bit the neck of the falcon. The falcon fell limp. Lightningkit and the falcon came barreling down to the ground.

"My kit!" Snaketail screamed. Lightningkit hit the ground with a thud. The falcon landed on top of her.

"Get her to my den!" Featherstorm shouted.

"Urghhh," groaned Lightningkit.

"Am I dead?" Lightningkit asked. She knew she was in Starclan, but was she dreaming?

"Your alive. Your just dreaming," mewed Ravenpaw.

"You look to big to be an apprentice," commented Lightningkit.

The black tom replied, "I am an old Thunderclan apprentice, but I was forced to leave because of what I knew."

Lightningkit had so many questions, but she could feel a cat's presence pulling her awake. "You must go," said Ravenpaw.

Lightningkit awoke.

"I thought you were dead!" Snaketail shouted.

"So did I," said Lionstripe, Willowpaw, Flamekit and Skykit.

"Well, it looks like she broke a rib, but that will heal before she becomes an apprentice in a few days," Featherstorm mewed.

"That's great!" Skykit said.

"Can we take her to see Silverfoot's kits?" Flamekit asked.

"What else did I sleep through?" she asked.

"You only missed that, and she may see the kits in a few days," said Featherstorm.

"I won't name them tell you see them," said Silverfoot as she walked into the medicine cat den.

"How are feeling?" asked Silverfoot.

"Good," Lightningkit said.

"Leave her alone. She needs rest," said Featherstorm.

Yes, let me sleep. Then I can talk to Ravenpaw, Lightningkit thought to herself.
