Warriors-Omen of Thunder-Book 1- Lightning of the Storm

Chapter 6

  The Shadowclan cats jumped out of the trees. The battle had begun.

  Honeystar called out to the others. Flamepaw charged at a Shadowclan warrior. Lightningpaw knew her brother couldn't hold off the Shadowclan warrior forever.

  She ran over to Flamepaw. Together they fought. Brother and sister against the enemy. They fought with swift and sudden movements. The Shadowclan warrior's bluish pelt was now streaked with blood.

  "Bluesoul!" yowled Airblaze. The dark red tabby she-cat rushed over to Bluesoul. "You hurt my daughter?" asked the deputy as she tackled Flamepaw.

  All Lightningpaw felt was rage. Rage towards the cat that was clawing her brother. "Stop!!!" yowled Lightningpaw as she used all her strength to push Airblaze off Flamepaw.

  Airblaze yowled with fury and slashed Lightningpaw right under the neck.

  "Lightningpaw! Flamepaw!" gasped Lionstripe.

  Featherstorm rushed over to the littermates. "Their wounds are to deep. They won't survive the journey to our camp!" yowled the Thunderclan medicine cat.

  Every cat stopped fighting.

  Honeystar walked over to the cats that would soon be dead. "I should have known you weren't ready. Lightningpaw, I was your mentor. It stings to know I will never give you your warrior name. Flamepaw, you were brave taking on Bluesoul by yourself. You both fought like warriors," cried Honeystar.

    Lightningpaw looked around. Her father's face was streaked with tears. Airblaze stood in horror, looking at what she had done. Lightningpaw limped over to Flamepaw.

  "They may stay here," mewed Noblestar.

  A light brown she-cat with a white spot between her ears walked over to Flamepaw and Lightningpaw. "I need cobwebs, marigold, and soaked moss," yowled the she-cat.

  "That's Lilacleaf, the Shadowclan medicine cat," whispered Featherstorm.

  Lilacleaf had warriors carry the injured cats into the medicine cat den, where Lightningpaw closed her eyes.
